Worcestershire North

According to report on bbc breakfast this morning the uk can’t get enough of a sauna

Buying into the health advantages

Plus many said great way to socialise

Have to agree with all that

Maybe more will opt for men only

I did wonder that

Great business opportunity but costs would be sky high

I agree with all above and saw same segment on BBC Brekkie.

So much focus on mental health and wellbeing these days, with sauna use and self care part of that.

I've saunaered In Turkey, Spain and Sweden.

With fun not being an option, there is one close to my home but their focus is more on the plunge pools.

There are several opened up near me but they are all small, sort of a converted horsebox so portable. Not the soet of place where they would be keen on spunk flying around i think

Imagination and fantasy keep us young.

Keep at it.

I'm not particularly a sauna guy, but I did go there twice. What a beautiful place, absolutely spotless. I used to chat to one of the owners on Scruff - jeeez, he was beautiful

A good sauna must cost an absolute fortune to run, let alone fit out. My local one is £20 a visit plus membership as council want it as a private members venue. The admin alone must be a pain in the arse

You would need at least 20 attendees charging 10 quid per visit to make it a viable business opportunity.

There's a lack of saunas in the west country. Closest ard either Touch in Swindon or The Greenhouse in Newport

I have a fenix 6 smart watch and on a couple occasions it messaged irregular heart beat in the sauna.

Eventually went to the chemist who checked my blood pressure and it was sky high. Bought my own machine. Started a weight loss regime. Gone from 106 kg to 86kgso a 20 kg loss.

Cut out all crap food like pork pies sausage rolls fizzy drinks scotch eggs white bread spuds. Breakfast bowl of porridge. Blood pressure now come down and no more alerts in the sauna on my watch.

That's my sauna story.

Congratulations on your achievement. Losing 20 kg is a significant accomplishment and requires strong willpower. Are you suggesting that the sauna made you aware of your unhealthy condition? The sauna serves as a space for resting and relaxation, not as a means for weight loss; this is something that everyone is undoubtedly aware of.

I’ll never forget going to a sauna for the first time when I was in my early 20’s. A bit apprehensive going in but what an unbelievable experience 🙂

I hope your story is missing the part where you visited a GP to check on the irregular heart beat 🤞
