"Metallica.. master of puppets..no debate lol" In a way it is the 'Magnum opus' as there is literally no filer on that album and they have found their feet by then. Shame about what happened after really

"Exactly what the title implies. I know its a very broad genre musically, with may sub-genres attached, but I'm genuinely curious to see. I'll get the ball rolling. (And yes I know there's nothing here that is later than 1984...) Powersl@ve - Iron Maiden Rising - Rainbow To Mega Therion - Celtic Frost Don't Break The Oath - Mercyful Fate Holy Diver- Dio." Way less radio friendly than mine, but I've never been a proper metal head. Just a music fan. At least I listed 5 tho.

"Saxon. Wheels of steel." Its a classic. Personally prefer the change of vibe and production of 'Crusader' but I think WOS has better songs!

" Celtic frost.. cold lake... yay or nay.. ?😸 Not heard it so couldn't say. Ask me again later. I've heard it's very glammy. " I wouldn't bother- even vocalist/guitarist Tom Warrior has disowned the album. I did see the tour around the release when it cam out and it didnt seem quite so bad at the time It's an interesting curiosity, but not much more than that.

It affected the band for years after, he was more than a bass player he was a damn good composer too.

I might check it out from morbid curiosity one day but I'd prefer the proper CF. Sepultura did a version of 'Procreation Of The Wicked' as a B-side if that's of any interest.

They did do some good stuff with Derrick, check out 'Vatican' for instance.

"Master of Puppets is still a classic for me for "metal" . " In many respects its the band's finest hour- the tour for that album was extraordinary in the UK- Anthrax in support, and the band still hungry for success (despite Hetfield's arm being in plaster from a skateboarding accident) Great days.

"Cradle of Filth Midian/Nymphetamine. Motorhead Orgasmatron, Korn Issues, RATM's Battle of Los Angeles. " Cradle of Filth's first album and Vempire are amazing, with everyone on top of their game Barker is a beast on drums here. Orgasmatron is another Motorhead classic (aren't they all??)

"In no particular order Toxicity - System of a Down Rage Against the Machine - RATM Nevermind - Nirvana Californication - RHCP The Sickness - Disturbed" This is interesting. I've have the first four of those albums on CD, now ripped to MP3, since they were released. I still like them a lot and listen to them when I'm in the gym. Never in a million years would I describe them as Heavy Metal though.

"Right seeing as people are listing stuff that's not metal..I think I should be allowed to list 5 more proper fucking metal albums... Exodus...bonded by blood Venom... black metal Voivod...war and pain Bulldozer....the day of wrath Entombed... wolverine blues " Venom- Black Metal: great choice, and That Bulldozer release absolutely crushed, so ahead of it's time. I think they are doing some anniversary tour around that release. Mental.

"UFO, Obsession and Strangers in the Night. More hard rock than metal. Appetite For Destruction still stands up although GnR never did anything remotely as good again. I seriously thought they could be the new Stones when that album came out. Argus by Wishbone Ash is maybe more prog hard rock than metal too, but seriously laid the template for all the twin-guitar bands that followed and also still stands up better than most of its era." I think we've discussed Argus previously. Considering the album is 54 years old the production is breathtaking and puts a lot of modern music to shame. In addition to the twin guitars, the drums are rounded, full and resonant, and the bass guitar just growls in the rockier numbers. My own band used to play a cover of Blowing Free back in the day, and it was always a crowd pleaser. "The album features a blend of progressive rock, folk, and hard rock, and is considered a landmark album in the progression of twin-lead guitar harmonisation, later adopted by bands such as Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden".

Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God Gravedigger - Rheingold Accept - Blood Of The Nations (The first one with Mark Tornillo on vocals) Rhapsody of Fire - From Chaos To Eternity Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" Except for the last one which is Black Metal.
