For me it’s:

Nighttime - Mellow Magic FM (throughout the night)

Daytime - HEART 80s (especially throughout the weekends when I’m relaxing at home)

Fri or Sat early evening Radio 1 dance music.

TMM1 - great for indie/alternative/rock, no presenters or news, just music with very few adverts (and a lot less than GHR/Absolute/Heart etc). It's not available everywhere on DAB but can be heard anywhere using Tunein

Rarely listen to the radio these days as I don't use the car that much but it's tuned to GHR (Oxford) yes the adds can be a bit annoying but they play pretty much exclusively 70s,80s and 90s music which suits me, used to listen to Radio 2 until they sacked the decent presenters and started to try and be down wiv da kidz by playing far too much current chart pop that really belonged on Radio 1.

Thing about commercial radio is you have more stations yet less choice the BBC for all its faults and there are many are not driven by a commercial imperative and can play stuff no other station would ever consider...it is called Public Service Broadcasting. Commercial radio is not.

North London (outer)

BBC London has some great presenters, in particular Robert Elms and Eddie Nestor. Both shows are around 50/50 music and chat, Elms focussing more on history and the arts, Nestor on current affairs.

Danny Baker is my all-time favourite presenter but the BBC sacked him back in 2019 over a misunderstanding.

Spent yesterday morning driving round Leeds alternating between Gaydio and Greatest Hits 60s just for s&g’s. But normally it’s BBC6, one of the Absolutes, Rad X or one of the 70s/80s in that order. If I ever get a hire car I always reprogram its radio with those

In the car, usually radio 2 or greatest hits. When they’re both playing/talking shit it’s the local station WCR or BBC West Midlands.

At home, I only listen if I’m in the garden, usually spring and summer maybe early autumn, then it’s either absolute or absolute 80s.

But mostly at home I listen to my own stuff.
