St Giles Hotel

From what I see it seems the St Giles Hotel is a popular place. Is it pretty easy for non paying guest to come to your room? Do you need a keycard to operate any lifts or doors to get to the rooms?

Very central and usually reasonably cheap. Not five star but not terrible either.
