FabGuys.com forum: Fun with an Ingrown Hair Down Below?

I was planning on visiting a sauna for the first time today, but have an ingrown hair between my balls and bum, and there's a small swelling. The guy I was going to meet at the sauna said to have it checked, or at least ring 111 first, and they're meant to be getting someone to call me back. But I've checked online and it says it's not contagious, and the only issue it can cause is pain from any friction.

And to clarify, it is most definitely an ingrown hair and not a symptom of an STI.

So, while I wait for a callback, do you guys think it's safe for me to go today or not, and would an ingrown hair in that area put any of you off? I'm not going to go if it would cause any concern to anyone.

If you can release the hair then the redness will quickly fade, Shouldn't put off anybody - it's only a hair after all!

I stopped shaving and switched to Veet creams to avoid such problems. xx

It's more than likely the beginning of a perianal abscess.

100% get it checked, I had one 30 years ago and it's STILL giving me problems, oh and after the general surgery to clean it out and dress it, the dressing change was THE MOST painful experience of my life, and I've broken a few bones (leg included) in my time.
