"Yes I’ve been several years ago as a change from the usual US city break destinations. Interesting architecturally and the situation by the lake made it more pleasant, but i think once was enough and there wasn’t anything special enough about it to warrant a return visit. I visited one May over the Memorial Day weekend and found it cold so I had to go and buy a pullover as I had packed for warm weather. The city did feel oppressive in some places. " Yes I'm a fan of modern architecture and have been fascinated by the Sears building since reading about it as the tallest skyscraper on Earth in the 1974 Guinness Book of Records aged seven, lol, but yes, oppressive is a good description, also seemed permanently overcast in this miniseries, though that could of course have been a deliberate production decision. | |||
