Hi everybody,

Just wondering if there are guys out there that say they can't host on their profile but they can but choose not too because maybe they want to get to know the guy before meeting?

Oh yes! I had a bad experience some years ago when I had some stuff taken by a guy I had hosted. NEVER AGAIN!

Well after a couple of bad experiences hosting I’m more careful in vetting who crosses my threshold

Too many guys have unrealistic expectations so I'm way more choosy.

I'm online so fucking what doesn't mean I'm available.

I just don't, because it's my safe place and no one comes in it

"I just don't, because it's my safe place and no one comes in it"

I've heard this one a number of times and I think it's the main reason. Which is fine, however we feel comfortable.

For me I'm much more comfortable hosting in my space than someone's else's.

Be the safe thing to do, untill you get to know them.

Many of us who accommodate take the view that it's a privilege not a right to come into our home. And it's our rules, in my case that includes showing pics and meeting in a neutral public location nearby so we can both change our minds. Then if it's one of the large number of no-shows, a complete stranger doesn't know precisely where I live.

It perfectly feasible to get to know a guy before inviting them into your home. It can take weeks or it can take 5 minutes. Due diligence is the most important factor in risk assessment, and all the ticks needs to be green. Those who could host, but won't, should understand their choice is limiting only them, nobody else. If that choice doesn't work for the other guy, they will just move on to the next person.

I’ve hosted on the rare occasions I’ve had the house to myself and I know I’m not going to be disturbed and so far, touch wood, I’ve not invited any trouble into my home. But it’s a risk, inviting complete strangers to the house.

Yes sometimes people assume just because I'm single, retired and have my own place they can just invite themselves around any time and I'll be here ever ready .

As many have said it's my home and I can be as choosy as I want.

Just because I can host, doesn't mean I'm always available to and agree with some of the other comments, I won't invite someone round within minutes of messaging.
