Allegedly every day so far this year in one form or another. Either heavy rain of drizzle. We did get some quite heavy snow but the rain soon washed than away. Not that cold. Got the patio doors open to let some fresh air in.

You must be one of those climate change deniers.

"Who could have foreseen it raining in February in the UK?!"

Think it was back in the '80s when it never rained once during the whole month of February and temperatures rarely rose above freezing point.

Swings of natures pendulum, they’ll be a counter balance of drier, settled and sunnier conditions to compensate within weeks.

The overall upper atmosphere pressure anomalies are very similar to 1947 with a blocking and persistent high over Scandinavia, then though it was much stronger over the UK with low pressure to the south, hence the very snowy conditions that winter.

Now the low is much closer in, rather than high pressure, so wet and unsettled, so yes it may be wet, but it could have been worse!

The high is weakened now, so changes afoot to colder weather for a time?

It’s okay if you’re growing rice yes.

Plants require air in the soil too, saturated ground is not good for normal healthy root activity, prolonged saturation at the roots is just as bad as a drought.

Brace yourselves

BBC report a yellow thing will appear in the sky on Saturday

An amber health warning issued to wear strong glasses & factor 50 sun block

It’s for one day only so expect Tescos to increase prices of amber solar by 50%

"We had sun ☀️ do 10mins in London this morning "

Ah, but you're in West London. It's been positively balmy here in N. London these past few weeks, in fact I'm currently out on the sun terrace sipping a Pina Colada, waiting for the houseboy to blow the lilo up.

"At least it will stop the farmers moaning. "

Having seen pictures of farms in Herefordshire and the Somerset levels, where the fields look more like lakes divided only by hedges, I rather doubt some farmers will be happy.

Millbrook, Cornwall

Cornwall has received more than twice the average amount of rain this winter, and yet the reservoirs remain somewhat depleted following last summer. We need to use less water!

They wont be able to harvest winter veg from waterlogged fields. Expect some winter veg shortages. Carrots going up!
