Nancy Guthrie, 84 years old and mother of well known journalist and CBS News anchor Savannah Guthrie, was allegedly ki(d)napped outside her home in Arizona during the night of January 31, 2026. Ransom demands have been made, but so far not paid.

I personally think there is more to this than meets the eye, how about you?

Update: The FBI have released images of a masked person in the hunt for news anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother.

Officials are seeking to identify the individual, who they say was armed, more than eight days after 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home.

What a half-baked plan that was, totally ridiculous. We'll have to wait and see if this is a more professional job or someone who knows the victim.

Police now have a suspect in custody following a traffic stop, and are searching an address. No word yet on how good a suspect they are.

The case is certainly quite complex, with various unusual elements emerging. The ransom demand lacks proof of life, and the masked individual's actions are suspicious. Authorities are probably considering multiple leads, but aren't revealing much at this stage in case it jeopardises their investigations.

Investigators have found a glove that appears to match one of those a suspect was wearing in doorbell camera footage taken the night Nancy Guthrie disappeared.

The FBI said in a Sunday update that investigators recovered DNA evidence from the glove, which was found in a field near the side of the road about two miles from Guthrie's home in Tucson, Arizona.

The agency said it has received preliminary DNA test results on the glove and is still waiting for "quality control and official confirmation" before entering an "unknown male profile" into its database.

I doubt very much that she's still alive.

I like true crime stories too but cannot watch the American ones.

I hate their accent and the talk over is fast which makes it worse.
