Looks like there is a lot to celebrate this year:

Pancake day (Shrove Tuesday)

Start of Ramadan

Chinese Lunar New Year

National Random Acts of Kindness Day

World Human Spirit Day

Oh and a Solar Eclipse if you happen to be in Antarctica.

Any of these take your fancy, or how about combining some of them.

Will you be fasting or praying during lent?

Also, as the pious Christian you are, why are you engaging in homosexual activity? Not very Christian of you

Just let people celebrate what they want

What brought that outburst on? Anyone can have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. I often do, and I'm an atheist.

What a bizarre & unhinged rant, oh dear.

The post asks…”there is a lot to celebrate this year…any take your fancy?”

I replied “Shrove Tuesday only.”

Please, on what sort of level at all is that anything to be offended about that warrants your outburst?

“If a World Earth Day” celebrant, whatever that is, doesn’t celebrate Shrove Tuesday, so what?

How did my reply imply any person whatsoever shouldn’t be allowed to celebrate their special day??

Omg, unbelievable nonsense.

Considering on the ‘miserable cunts’ thread you made a hypothetical scenario along the lines of ‘I bet the mayor will only mention Ramadan and not shrove Tuesday’, it’s quite clear what you were doing

“Hey guys! Looky like I got myself a pretty little virtual stalker here!”

Freedom of Information Request, 31/122025, Alex Armstrong applicant.

“Could the mayor reveal the amount of money spent on the word “Christmas” on London lights and the amount of monies on Diwali, Ramadan lights etc for 2025?”

Christmas = zero

Other = £20045.421

My statement WILL be accurate.

Started this because it is not that often you have events (some of them major events) from different cultures that fall on the same day of the year and allow us to share our different ways to celebrate our cultures as a way to bring people together.

I wondered if anyone combined these things like making pancakes for the homeless (combining shrove Tuesday with Random Acts of Kindness), but obviously not.

Also happy Chinese New Year - year of the horse I think.

Chinese Supermarket in Aldershot are having a Lion Dance on Saturday 28th Feb at 1pm if anyone wants to see one (usually some free food after as well).
