"Restore it to what?"

Dignity & respect for our elders, used to be commonplace when “I were a lad” 50 yrs ago.

Pride in those who provide a service, from the shopkeeper to the plod.

For those so inclined, fighting with fists instead of knives.

Giving up our seat on a bus for the elderly, disabled or expectant mums.

Just saying “Good morning” to a total stranger.

Etc, etc, etc.

It’s so sad how we have collapsed as a country.

I can only say what I experience, I'm disabled and find walking a real difficulty. The age group that offers help the most is the young generation. Lots, not all, seniors just avoid me, literally.

I struggled to commute for a good few years before I had to retire early, at the age of 52. Again I was rarely left to stand, young and middle aged offered

their seat.

I live in a village, saying good morning is common. In towns and cities it's not, but in my experience it's never been common practice. Communication is a two way thing, nothing more or less, often in my life I've talked to strangers men, women young and older. Some join in the conversation others don't for whatever reason. I've also experienced lots of older people who are rude, offensive and antisocial...but that's a minority and I don't believe in collective discrimination

Ahh, I didn’t realise this thread was about R Lowe’s new party but rather just a question in general.

My sentiments are the same regardless, although I fear this country is too far gone.

And I’m a supreme optimist, that’s how fucked we are.

"Restore it to what?"

Perhaps, restore us to a common-sense Britain that works for everyone, not just a loud protected minority. To a country that rewards hard work and talent instead of box-ticking and 'woke' nonsense—where being the best person for the job matters more than your identity, and where we stop walking on eggshells for people who are forever victims of the free-market economy.

Absolute Garbage!

Rupert Lowe is the member of parliament for Great Yarmouth, Every month he donates his WHOLE Salary to a local charity. He has just recently finished with a grooming gamg enquiry (the government said they would but still haven’t!) The enquiry was totally funded by donations. Although not legally binding the information and scale of the grooming was found & documented. Private prosecutions are likely to follow.

Anti gay, absolutely not!

Stopping Teans identitifyung men using women’s facilities probably.

Stopping Cousin Marriage, yes.

You are looking back with rose tinted goggles of a time when you were the young person. You probably don't have many interactions with young people now so don't see how brilliant most of them are.

Funnily enough, getting yourself off the internet and out in the real world might help. Advice that you no doubt would give to young people.

I don't think it is a nostalgia party e.g. cricket on the village green, warm beer, maiden ladies cycling to church in the early morning mist. More a case of wanting to get back to some sensible British values and move forward. I heard they have now registered with the Electoral Commission so with be able to contest any forthcoming elections if those elections are allowed. Also by the sound of it the Advance UK Party may be disbanded and its members join Restore. Al interesting to watch from the sidelines.

"

For context: The elders of 50 years ago probably fought in the war and 100% deserved respect. I’m not saying our elders don’t but that context doesn’t exist anymore.

Uncovering widespread misconduct in the police has definitely hampered respect for them, they still deserve our respect as do shopkeepers but the damage is there.

50 years ago was when taxes were even more progressive than they are now with 65% being the highest tax band. Houses were affordable and you could bring up a family on a single income. Councils had a strong housing stock as Thatcher hadn’t brought in right to buy yet. As there had been a post-war baby boom of people who were now of voting age, the young had the voting majority so there was good worker protections and free higher education. Young people now are unlikely to be able to afford a house until they’re into their 30s, reducing their likelihood of starting a family and their overall buy in to a society that looks like it doesn’t care about them.

So in summary: properly funded public services, the government still owned and controlled a lot of its own assets and utilities and low economic inequality. If we’re restoring that then yes sounds good.

We need more special interest parties.

Restore is one.

What about the UK Radical Islam Party?

That's another. Let them have their own party, and stop the bickering/infighting in the Labour party.

Then we can have the Reformist Islamics, the Jewish UK party, the Energy party, the party for people who don't like parties party

I'm tired of the mainstream parties claim I back them, just because I find them marginally less corrupt than the other mainstream parties.

Stopping Halal slaughter, yes.

Certainly not anti women!

I suggest you stop watching the BBC and find some actual news!

You do know he makes more money from posting rage bait on Twitter than he gets from his MP salary?

He's doing fine, what with that and his inherited wealth.

He's a veritable working class hero, so he is!

That maybe so but he does more actual work which is meaningful and actually makes peoples lives better than all the rest of them put together!

He actually cares about the normal working people, the actual tax payers and not the freebie brigade!"

Stop it, you're killing me! 🤣

When Great Britain had an empire we had a emperor

When Great Britain had a kingdom we had a king

We now have a country

What do you honestly want it restored to ?

What era do you believe would be better?

I’m genuinely interested to hear some real palatable opinions

Because in my lifetime i wouldn’t want to relive any of the eras in regards to the political stance

As for farage being the saviour bs

Think again

His party is now made up of tories who abandoned their so called principles and beliefs!

In my opinion that is nothing more than a ships rat on a self preservation mission!

Not a party that I would put my faith in !

Labour have bs us from pre election and continue to every day they stand in office

Tory’s well enough said !

Zac Polanski the fella who claimed to emerge womens breast with the power of his mind

Who do you believe can restore Great Britain?

Actually, since 1918, when they formed their first government, the Labour party has formed 13 governments compared to the Conservatives' 13 governments within the same period although over different time scales.

"

Just Thatcher, as so many still adhere to here rules.

Something weird happened when I last tried to post but yes, if you’re a Thatcher fan and use Tim his website, look up Section 28 Local government act 1988 or any comments she made about how young people being taught that they have “an inalienable right to be gay are being cheated out of a sound start in life”. You might like her but she was more than up for making you a second class citizen "

A single issue of Thatcherism. Something pertinent of 40 years ago when attitudes were very different and Section 28 did not actually affect any gay adults. We were still in the middle of the AIDS crisis which the press and media of the day had dubbed 'The Gay Plague'. Although I am dead against the re-introduction of anything vaguely resembling Section 28, I do feel we have gone too far the other way. Not so sure sex education should be taught to kids under 11 at least. Dead against drag queens reading stories to kids. Also dead against kids being able to define their own gender. With hormones spurting like fireworks all over the place, teenagers change their minds like the wind. Seem to remember I was a very different person at 17-18 to what I had been at say 14-15.

Much debate seems to hanker for a time that didn’t exist, except in films, adverts and out selective memory. Yes because people's idea of Brexit turned out brilliantly, let's think of other "brilliant" ideas such as the reform 🙄🙄😒🙄. This whole abolish the 5 year settled status not allowing people in the country is total bullshit, of course tourism though, tourism is ok, tourism brings money 🙄🙄😒 maybe they should be more stricter on border patrol yes, but why abolish good honest people who are coming into the country to better their family's life. Tbh I've seen more foreigners contribute to society than English. Won't even begin to argue on how many English are on benefits (when they can work, they just don't want to, if you want to find a job in the UK, you can find it in two days) once the foreigners are gone, the people who you know save lives in heart surgery and specialist surgery in majority of the country, what will Britain do? Not saying English doctors won't be amazing, they will, but it will be so difficult for the next five to ten years. Stricter border force, yes, but abolish the 5 year settled status is utter nonsense. It's not patriotism "making England great", multicultures England (which I thought was once without prejudice, clearly wrong) is what makes England great!

But one thing I saw on here that keeps getting quoted by those on the right is stop them marrying their cousins.

We in England have always been able to marry our cousins it isn't new it isn't something bought in from overseas.

The country has gone to shit because fake news and ideologies not just from the right but from the left as well.

It is time for a shake up get all in power to spreading shit and blaming everyone else and focus on the job in hand making Britian, great, welcoming a place for all and all working for it.

Speaking of Italy… an interesting comparison… following a decade of political / economic mess there…

…The Italian government, currently led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of the right-wing Brothers of Italy party since October 2022, operates as a parliamentary republic. The coalition cabinet directs national policy, focusing on conservative values, economic reforms, and stricter immigration controls.

As of late 2025, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni maintains strong, stable popularity, with approval ratings around 39%–42% and her Brothers of Italy party leading in polls. Her support is driven by a perception of competence, international credibility

And how would we do that? I'm pretty convinced that most of our former colonial states wouldn't be that interested. So do we invade them, only bare in mind, they won't be using bows and arrows, spears and clubs this time. Or gun boat diplomacy, might be tricky though, subs, missiles etc are available for the right money?

Given our recent 'success' in foreign conflicts I really doubt that your plan would work.

Maybe restore to to about 43AD when a load of foreigners piled in and took over.

Maybe to about 450AD when a load of foreigners piled in and took over.

Or maybe 865AD when a load of foreigners piled in and took it over

Or maybe even 1066AD when a load of foreigners piled in and took it over.

There’s plenty of restore times to choose from.

That’s besides the numerous times over the years that we have taken in many people to protect them from political or religious persecution.

But over time they all integrated and turned us into this nation that most of us still love to be a part of.

So maybe we don’t need to restore to a past, just try to work for a better future instead of whining about now.

Not always an issue King Charles & Diana were 16th cousins distant enough not to be problematic.

And that ended well… most of our upper classes are inbreeds, look how ‘outsiders’ are treated."

The aristocracy has been marrying outsiders for a good century and a half. Bringing in fresh blood but often, more importantly, fresh money. There was a spate of Dukes, Earls etc marrying American heiresses from the middle of the 19th century onwards.

"Restore it to what?

Dignity & respect for our elders, used to be commonplace when “I were a lad” 50 yrs ago.

Pride in those who provide a service, from the shopkeeper to the plod.

For those so inclined, fighting with fists instead of knives.

Giving up our seat on a bus for the elderly, disabled or expectant mums.

Just saying “Good morning” to a total stranger.

Etc, etc, etc.

It’s so sad how we have collapsed as a country.

"

Who’s stopping you from respecting your elders? From giving your seat up on a bus? From respecting service providers? Etc etc etc

The answer is no one

50 years ago just before I left school. Discrimination was rife. The Employment protection act had just been enacted because unscrupulous employers were treating staff like indentured servants.

The country has moved on. We are now in the 21st century and a more tolerant society. However, no one is stopping you from respecting others. On the rare occasions I am on public transport I have given up my seat to someone else. It’s called politeness.

I see no collapse of the country

The way I see it, just do your own little things to spread a bit of love.

I always hold the door open for people, help people with their luggage on the tube etc, smile and say hello.

and I am a northener in London, thre's still lovely people down here though, just as there are complete shits up north haha.

I definitely agree on the fighting with fists thing, knock your oppnonent down and walk away, you've won.

stop buying crap from Temu, shein, primark. if you can

wear some decent clothes to the shop, my theory was always dress like you could end up in the pub haha.

and apart from that, just be yourself and generally stay out of trouble.

and drink plenty of kezzy black, haha! winner

I do.

My comment was a general one.

An opinion backed up by many including the police, schools, hospitals & emergency worker etc.

Was never thus. When did a paramedic ever get bottled & bricked for attending a call?

There even had to be a specific offence introduced in 2018 due to the increase.

Many schools now introducing airport style technology to id knives.

Shop workers too afraid to challenge the shoplifting pandemic.

Not long ago no room to lock up the villains, if they are they serve a joke of a sentence.

There has been a staggering societal collapse under the watch of the coalition, the tories and Labour over the past 20 years especially.

You’re stopping yourself? You can sort that right now, any time you want. You don’t need a political party to change your attitude.

No room in prisons had been an issue successive governments have failed us all on. I guess there are no votes in spending money on prisons.

As to shop workers being scared to tackle shoplifters. Why the hell would they. You get paid minimum wage to do a job. Why would you get a sore face or worse. In our local coop its not unusual to have 2 staff members one taking stock deliveries in. One serving, with delivery orders going nuts. If corporations want shops secure from shop lifters employ more staff.

As to bricks and bottles bring thrown at emergency workers. I’m old enough to remember riots all across the country. Thats not a new thing. No ones saying its right but its been happening since times gone bye and long before I was born in 1960.

I do get people hankering for nicer times. Or at least what they think were nicer times.

Metal detectors at schools I don’t have an issue with. In fact using technology to keep people safe can only be described as good governance. There were razor gangs in the sixties and before. Again not a new phenomenon

“I do” (As in I do do those things I posted in my initial post)

This is the second time you have misinterpreted my posts but, hey ho.

As for the rest of your reply I disagree.

For example, riots have always been a rather exceptional event historically in the UK but when they did happen a riot is defined as a complete break down in law and order.

Brutally attacking emergency workers reached such a prolific extent that specific legislation was introduced in 2018 to tackle this phenomenon.

There were even countless reports of paramedics being called to remote areas on fake calls then showered with bricks and bottles just for the jest.

A shoplifting conviction years ago was one of shame and it was only the local wrong un who did it.

Now it is so prolific that under £200 is a low level crime and many police forces won’t even investigate in reality.

Shops often have to private prosecute.

Just the above examples show a deterioration of society over the last few decades.

As opposed to a party with some actually useful policies that will benefit the majority of the country and protect our infrastructure and commercial sovereignty ?

It's not a popularity contest. It's about who will actually deliver on managing the country rather than just cutting a deal for their mates or protecting the status quo that provided their inheritance and privilege.

Farage, who is amazingly well liked by the gullible, seems to have turned politics into a popularity contest. Probably because the other parties are led by characterless dullards or people who have so far made little impact. Start analysing Farage's policies and you find there is little substance other than mantras, soundbites and false promises. Labour have very few sound policies with constant u-turns, trying to blame everything on the previous government and still appear very amateur. The Conservatives are still struggling to rebuild after their disastrous defeat. Libdems are well meaning but have probably plateaued. Greens, a bit like Reform, are basing a lot under their new eccentric but nevertheless appealing leader

Then along comes Rupert Lowe. Looks and sounds a steady type. The reliable avuncular figure. Given the chance he might well do what he says whereas with some of the others it is all hot air.

He's no better than Farage and only has one policy - immigration. He actually states that he'll throw out 500,000 immigrants a year. If that's not hot air, I don't know what is.

The courts will stop him, litigations will be endless, countries will refuse returns. Unworkable - total bs.

Ahhh, this old chestnut.

A few reasons.

Proportionality.

If there is one group of people of, say, 40 million and another of 1 million then the proportion of 6 foot people would be much greater in the 40m group as opposed to the 1m.

However, as you mention sex offences, this is completely turned on its head, certain ethnicities are much greater represented from much smaller demographics as offenders.

Indeed, one study showed the British to be the lowest, by far, in a table of sex offence convictions.

Yet the highest, by far, proportionally, was…you will have to guess I’m afraid as I believe a previous post was removed, despite being an official statistic in the public domain.

Laila Cunningham, a muslim, is a former Crown Prosecution Service lawyer and is standing for Reform as their candidate for the London mayoral election in 2028.

She is a very impressive lady who knows a thing or two about the above and her studies are jaw dropping.

Also, she has Sadiq Khan in her sights, not just for mayor but of his continual denial of any grooming problems in London and her first thing she said she will do is investigate Khan if she wins.

She is bound by her former job for now that will expire once mayor.

That’s going to be a shit show.

Your paranoia is unfounded.

Danny La Rue & Larry Grayson were never off the telly in the good old days.

And the tradition of men dressing up as women practically started in the theatre, centuries ago, then transferred very successfully onto the silver screen, before finally 'transitioning' to the television age seamlessly... With no pushback from the Great British viewing public.

The Arts have always been as queer as a three-pound note.

So fear not, your viewing pleasure is very unlikely to be interrupted by a dearth of performers camping it up.

What you don't hear every day is the amount of peado white British guys and grooming gangs, farage mentioned 1 foreign rpist in my area, completely missed the group of 12 white guys grooming and rping teenagers and a guy having sex with 4 girls under 14.

Why do you think that is? "

That you know some very dodgy people
