Near the coast

Anyone used to go raving in the 90's or going to the Forever Presents last one in November?

Raves of the 80’s were better imo.

For me, music generally went shit from the 90’s until now.

Mid 90s raves were the peak - the hard house era. Total vibe, everyone happy, everyone dancing, everyone friends, no attitudes. It was like and improved version of late 80s acid house.

Victim of its own success - it was so popular that non scene people came along and killed the vibe - then jungle took over in the late 90s which was less about connection and more about ego.

You’re only 4 years younger than me but that’s quite a gap when young.

The house sound of Chicago were more 80’s than acid house, that was more 90s?

It was the birth of it really from mid 80’s, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Frankie Knuckles etc

A bit like punk, short lived and only truly appreciated if there.

1990 and it was all over.

"1990 and it was all over."

Not really it just evolved and like all genres of all things it’s all subject to personal preference and perception.

The days of Carl Cox, Danny Rampling Rob Tissera, et al were amazing for me and then post 93 it just fizzled out.

Absolutely agree, opinions, music is subjective.

For me, by 1990 & that genre and what came after was old hat by then.

But I was 16 to 20 during the 80s and then obviously older, it just didn’t have that same vibe.

Maybe that’s why?

Enjoy👍
