It’s often said that there are more bottoms than tops on here

So i thought I’d do a random - totally unscientific - count of those within five miles of me

The first 60 or so came out as

Tops - 9

Bottoms - 20

Versatile - 27

Oral - 6

So it seems to be true

And if - as is also said - that the versatiles are mostly more bottom than top then the imbalance is even more marked

Why is this ?

And is it true of the gay community at large or just on here ?

As a bottom myself, I've always thought it was the case too that there were way more bottoms than tops around but I assumed it was just my location or maybe it is just a fab thing.

One top can impregnate many so there isn't a requirement for 1 top to 1 bottom. Low testosterone is a global problem in men. Many more things too...

It's weird really, many bottoms out there would report poor or even unpleasant experiences but are still content to classify themselves as primarily bottoms.

I've never heard of tops saying they ve had poor experiences, seems to be much less of an issue for them.

Personally I d only had two experiences which really hit the mark as a bottom, the remainder not very good. I puh it down to the top not being very skilled...?

I think the age and erection thing is often behind it. I came to bi sex in my forties and now struggle to remain hard in a condom for either sex and am not in a position to take prep for BB anal. I’ve often thought about this subject and like others wondered if s lot of it coincides with guys struggling to get fully hard with age. Certainly that’s my case. Loads of factors. I switched from bottom to top as it opened up more opportunities. As a bottom, the market is saturated. Bottoming is great, so that’s clearly the main reason there are more on here. Additionally you have those people who either can’t get hard or don’t ejaculate and for them it’s a great way to still access sex and intimacy. More generally, tops need to be hard in order to top, so attraction, horniness and lust play a larger part for them whereas a bottom doesn’t need that to perform or enjoy the meet; performance is therefore Less of a worry. Similarly, the majority of bottoms on here want to be led in bed so again there are more pressures to take on which may put people off. Not an exhaustive list but some thoughts that sprung to mind immediately.
