I can understand people mistyping the odd word or autocorrect but I have to admit poor spelling is...irksome.

I personally find people who type like they talk very off-putting as well, I see that on social media a lot.

Fabguys is a broad church: some users are for example

- functionally illiterate

- dyslexic

- fat-fingered

- using speech-to-text

- poor spellers in English

You may have missed out on the best sex ever, just because the guy's a fat-fingered dyslexic. May also has missed the chance to meet the nicest guy.

If you can understand the meaning of what they wrote, the spelling doesn't matter too much. Some people can't spell and some people can't change a tyre.

Being someone who's unfortunately had dyslexia from a very young age I really hate the grammar and spelling police I would hope that someone wants me for my body and not my spelling or punctuation.

I can spell and I can change a tyre. But I can’t write a best-seller or change a timing chain. It’s just the basis we should expect, that’s all.

Or they use one of those to cover the fact that they rushed to type something and/or were just too fucking lazy to read it once before pressing enter

"When did question marks become an arcane science, known only to the chosen few?"

Question marks are easy; commas are often misused, exclamation marks are usually overused, but apostrophes cause the real issues and the use of a semicolon is an arcane science. Any opinions on hyphens anyone?

the sign -, used to join words to indicate that they have a combined meaning or that they are linked in the grammar of a sentence (as in a pick-me-up, rock-forming minerals), to indicate the division of a word at the end of a line, or to indicate a missing element (as in short- and long-term).

We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Some people are great with mechanics, others aren't. Same with spelling and grammar. If someone makes a mistake, it's not a reason to look down on them - it says more about you if you do. Errors happen, let's focus on the person, not the mistake.

Interestingly, although the tomato was actually introduced to Britain during Shakespeare's time, it was shunned by botanical experts, deemed "rank and stinking" due to its nightshade family ties, and used only as a decorative "Love Apple".

Obviously the message came from a man that didn't have the expensive education that you received! Life is tough out there, try not to knock people, it really isn't clever, you obviously understood the message, so what is the problem.

"It’s you’re not your 🤣😂🤣"

Good point.

Bad spelling can be excused for a number of reasons, including failing to notice a faulty autocorrect.

However, bad grammar cannot. Poor punctuation spoils a read and makes it difficult or tiring to read.
