Why? He's not. And Trump isn't Roosevelt. Think the difference is Starmer knows he's not playing a role or a game. To Trump, bombing countries and tanking the world economy is just a distraction. Not enough to distract him from his curtains though

No but why the fuck should we be involved in killing a similar number with no plans for anything. If he bombed during the protests he might have this argument - but the revolution was defeated.

It was only less than 6 months ago that MI5 revealed they had thwarted 19 high level threats, and ‘hundreds’ more, all directly linked to Iran.

The UK is Iran’s second state, there are more sleeper cells in the UK than anywhere else in the western world.

Starmer knows he risks utter carnage within the UK if he dares upset Iran.

Starmer is not standing up to Trump at all.

Mr Starmer has been PM for getting on for 2 years now, and, in my opinion, this is the first decent thing he’s done as PM.

He’s put the UK first, and hasn’t just been led blindly by what a big, bullying state has decided to do.

Yes he’s let the US fly from British bases, which is something that is fine, they are an ally we may need one day. However he’s stayed away from being an attacking force in a possibly illegal war, and has stopped any future questioning about war crimes being laid at the door of our forces.

Hats off to Starmer for not bending over to the orange baby's whims just to help distract the world from a certain list. Why should we kowtow to an israeli instigated war of aggression that has nothing to do with us?

"Why the hell should we spend millions on bombing Iran. The entire war will destroy Europe more than the Syrian refugee crisis. "

The UK is reluctant to engage in actions against a terrorist regime. It is important not to confuse the name of Iran with that of the Islamic Republic; they are two distinct entities. For many years, the UK has served as a haven for the Ayatollahs, allowing them to come here, purchase properties, and accumulate wealth that rightfully belongs to the Iranian people in their banks. They have negotiated with these individuals to permit the construction of nuclear weapons. Now, every nation must contend with the threat they pose as they launch missiles into neighbouring countries, and it is well understood that they could reach european countries within a year. This prolonged silence from Starmer is unacceptable; he seems to require only a turban to complement the nonsensical statements he makes daily. Trump is entirely correct in his assessment of Starmer as a completely ineffective supporter of China.

Well of course Starmer is no Churchill. In comparison he is weak, indecisive and dithering. However the circumstances are very different. I can imagine Churchill may have come to Trump's aid but also given him a good ticking off and some meaningful advice over his erratic strategy. This country is not under threat like it was in Churchill's day. If it ever is I sincerely hope we had a more stalwart prime minister then.

Churchill spent months in the US begging them to join the war. Roosevelt was sick of him. Congress wouldn't agree to war due to Hitler's bribes of politicians, but they charged us exorbitant fees for shipping food and supplies. They watched Singapore fall to Japan and did nothing.

Only after Pearl Harbor did they declare war.

From 1942 things changed. Hitler knew he could not win against the US and began mass extermination of Jews as a policy to punish the US.

"Churchill spent months in the US begging them to join the war.

"

*Important to note that the US did not declare war on Germany re Pearl Harbour.

The US only declared war on Germany after the Germans declared war on the US first, after Pearl Harbour.

Along with invading the Soviet Union it was Hitler’s biggest blunder and his fate was sealed.

Starmer is not a politician he’s a human rights lawyer, he based his career on defending the indefensible and now he’s shoring up his position by pandering to a specific religious population, rather than the interests of the whole of the country.

So, you want our troops being killed in a foreign war thsts nothing to do with us because you don't like some religions?

Let me try to work that one out...

You're missing the story here. He will give it up in the not so distant future and claim to have stopped the war and with it possibly being the worst war in recent history, will claim to be in line for his coveted peace prize

Obviously a silly comment but watch that space!

"Why the hell should we spend millions on bombing Iran. The entire war will destroy Europe more than the Syrian refugee crisis.

Trump is entirely correct in his assessment of Starmer as a completely ineffective supporter of China."

Yeah right, and the obvious response from Iran if that was actually the case and not your febrile imagination would already have been a nicely targeted one on Fairford or Lakenheath. That'd show the west, eh?

Hezbollah have primarily been supplied their missiles by their proxy, Iran, and could certainly reach the UK and it’s estimated they have 150k plus.

In addition, Iran are at the cutting edge of drone technology and even supply Russia with advanced drones that the Russians haven’t even developed.

Considering Iran’s drone range has increased from about 1k range to possibly 3k range in little time then reaching the UK could well be in range already.

It only has happened yet because the previous skirmishes have been contained within their region.

It was only last year that Iran directly targeted Israel with missiles.

So given the gloves are seemingly off and nowhere is off limits as a target, why aren't they falling on US bases as we speak? Given Lakenheath recently got authorisation to bunker tactical nukes, a strike on that would be a big feather in either Iran or Hezbollah's hat.

I maintain the answer is because it's simply not possible.

It's not my "febrile," mind mate. This is information from experienced military professionals and retired Officers from various establishments.

These current ballistic missiles have a distance capability to hit Uk. And, as has been pointed out, UK has NO means to stop them at the moment.

Waterlooville

The USA and Israel attacked Iran without notice, saying it was a pre-emptive attack. Neither leader have produced any coherent evidence to justify their actions.

Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, was considered a justified pre-emptive strike by Japanese leadership, who believed it was necessary to destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet and secure natural resources. However, it was not justified under international law, as it was a surprise attack without a formal declaration of war.

Keir Starmer was legally and morally correct.

Legally in the UK as per case president law; re Japans suprise attack.

Morally, a war without any pre-planed objective to its outcome, can never be seen as a justified

As to the moans and groans on this thread about the UKs ability to defend this country , the solution is simple raise more taxes. But alas you will still all complain!

To defend the realm requires the will to do so. As a globalist, Starmer doesn't believe in the UK as a concept and so has no will to defend it ... He, and the government he supposedly fronts, are a liability to the United Kingdom.

HMS Dragon is the only boat Starmer has stopped from crossing the Channel.

As for his reluctance to get involved in the fight against the Islamic terrorist state of Iran .... He’s choosing the feelings of his imports over our allies.

It has nothing to do with Blair or America. People take issue with Starmer because he represents the exact kind of 'woke' overreach that forces people to ignore reality just to avoid offending the loudest voices in the room. He treats the country like a corporate grievance department where feelings trump facts and box-ticking replaces real leadership.

?The reason he’s widely criticised—which you seem totally unaware of—is that he prioritises a system that obsesses over what makes us different rather than what brings us together as a country. He’s the ultimate 'empty vessel', someone who is willing to flip-flop on any core pledge the moment the political wind changes. Just because you don’t realise the 'bullying by HR' tactics he represents doesn’t mean the rest of the country isn’t feeling them!

"Starmer is a spineless fucktard

In what way in this current situation?

In agreeing to let the USA use the bases for any defensive operations , it will be the Americans that will decide what falls into that sphere.

if you have a stand stick to it like the Spanish, don’t flip flop , stand your ground without trying to hide behind legal precedent

So don't change if the situation changes?

Yes, agreed. She speaks sense but I feel the Tories will change their leader soon and we may see Rupert Lowe as leader of the Tories, now that would be an ideal situation.

Rupert and Kemi would be the perfect team to run this country. Zack and Sir ED are jokes. Starmer a dithering, blithering idiot. And Farage a self-loving windbag.

Perhaps not ideal but head and shoulders above most party leaders we've got at the moment. She performs well in the Commons. Often makes Starmer stammer and go puce. Sadly made little impact in the country.

Always seems her default is whatever labour /starmer says does she has to say or claim the opposite and call for resignation, i am fully aware that our dumb politics have been this way & encouraged such tit for tat name calling, one would hope she might rise above

Let’s be crystal clear Churchill was great as a war leader but the rest of his politics was very questionable indeed. There is a reason he didn’t get elected after the war was won under his prime ministership. That perhaps was a time when the voting public did actually get it right.

Even the Tory press have been exasperated by her performances in the Chamber. Had about 3 good occasions even according to that biased source

Made up stuff = you read the tory press. Otherwise you would have noticed quite a lot of praise for the lady

FYI all the press is biased since only broadcast media has requirement of impartiality, so hardly the insult you intend.

It's all relative, isn't it.

She's up against Starmer, who's not exactly a strong performer during PMQs himself .... It's all he can do to stop his hands from shaking like a leaf lately.

It's a poor Government & a poor official opposition.

The odds of Starmer or Badenoch leading their respective parties into the next general election are looking rather long.

I don't read the so-called 'Tory Press'. Seen her perform at PMQ and thought she was quite good whereas your bloke Starmer is a blithering wreck.

With my respect, she was awful this week. Wanting us to be careful and to start bombing Iran which would put our people's live on the line.

She is too busy being in opposition to everything starmer does and says to think about the country itself.

The once great conservative party deserves so much better than her.

Every segment on every show GB News invites both sides of the debate to attend and that most often happens, if one side or another fails to provide comment then that’s hardly the fault of GB News is it?
