Why are petrol prices rising already? Surely the petrol we have in the country at the moment was bought at cheaper than the price it will be in a few weeksLooks like it is just profiteering by the oil companies. It should take weeks for the price of oil now to filter through to the pumps.

You have to sell it at the price your paying for the next consignment otherwise you would lose money .

All fuel companies are quick to put up prices even when they’re selling fuel at the old price per barrel of oil, but not so quick to reduce prices when the price per barrel drops

I literally just had this same conversation with a friend of mine. The fuel has been in the country for months and yet it’s going up already.

Those in the know say it should take 5 to 7 weeks before the more expensive fuel will reach the forecourts. That, of course, will happen sooner thanks to the idiotic panic buyers. You'll soon spot them, they'll have nearly full tanks but still queue and their car will be full of toilet rolls and pasta!!

Absolute nutters!

Remember during Covid about 20 drivers tailed a tanker for an hour thinking he had fuel but it was dry mortar powder in the tank!

🤣🤣 Fucking wankers

Last time this happened and my car was well in the red on the fuel gauge I sat in a que for over half an hour only to watch the idiot in front of me top up his tank with £1.80s worth of fuel. It's knobs like that that cause the cues.

Thanks to Thatcher unlike Norway we never controlled North Sea oil and gas so it's sold at world market prices and all profits go to the oil companies.

Norway sold oil on the world markets, the difference is they didn’t allow the oil companies to pocket all the profits, taxes went to a sovereign wealth fund…

The main company is Equinor formally called Statoil owned by the state of Norway and all profits go to the sovereign wealth fund.

Already going up and lots there when I was filling up who could only have been fitting a few quid in to top off their tanks. Not exactly panic buying yet, but buying as you normally would makes much more sense to me
