I'm still of the opinion that anyone in entertainment should stay neutral in public about their views. Perhaps my view is a bit single-minded or old-fashioned but you can alienate fans by expressing views whether your a a sportsperson, actor, presenter, singer, comedian or whatever. My views tend to veer to the moderate right but I cannot stand the mortal sight of that smug unfunny prat. What 'far-right' views? It's been on social media. His thinking is somewhat akin to the odious Farage. 'It's been on social media' .... Oh well, then I guess he must be a far-right menace then. There were live videos of him spouting off his views. I'm still of the opinion that anyone in entertainment should stay neutral in public about their views. Perhaps my view is a bit single-minded or old-fashioned but you can alienate fans by expressing views whether your a a sportsperson, actor, presenter, singer, comedian or whatever. "Nearly all the modern comics arnt funny, ," I disagree, but like every thing it’s all a matter of taste. I think Micky Flanagan is hilarious and up to now true to his roots. A lot of these so called comedians use the comedy circuit to go onto other things like serious acting and quizzes and reality shows and seems to be all about the money. When I started this thread, I think my point was I personally don’t think Rosie Jones is at all funny, and judging my the many posts nor do most people it appears. However, because of her special needs, the “media” portrays her as a good comedian, maybe out of sympathy, but that is totally disingenuous and encourages her which as some have eluded to is sometimes cringeworthy to watch. Perhaps her talents may be in comedy writing or serious presenting instead of standup. | |||

" There is a grain of truth to that, though the numbers probably don't stack up. In order to be truly funny you have to able to cope with being laughed AT, not WITH. It's the reason some male comedians just aren't funny. They're too concerned with being seen to be clever, punching up blah blah blah...why can't they discern what the difference is between polite and real laughter? | |||
