What are your thoughts?

- 4 Typhoon jets to be sent over to Qatar

- First charter flight has taken off from Oman

-Starmer defends not joining the initial strikes

- Starmers focus is on calm, level headed leadership

- Stsrmers Priority is protecting our people

Give it another week or 2 and we'll be at war on the offensive rather than defencive.

Well at the very least, the MOD did confirm that the attack on Cyprus did not come from Iran - they aren't sure who did it yet. So perhaps it was good we didn't take the bait

That I am glad about. Things are escalating so quick for my liking. Not scared of dying so long as it's quick and I don't know it's coming lol!

He did mention about different communities coming together in support for each other.

I know that's not gonna be effective in fighting on a defensive side of the war

A mosque caught fire in Peacehaven and Liebour gave them 10 million 😂! Couldn't make it up. Isn't that what insurance is for? Should turn it around on them to make sure they had everything in place, fire risk assessment etc.

It must be so much fun to just completely get the wrong end of the stick.... The mosque in Peacehaven was burn down by two arsonists. The government has set aside money for the security of places of worship.

Not exactly one of Ed Miliband's finest scripts was it .... and the combination of Starmer's robotic delivery, plus that permanently constipated expression, was never going to make a silk purse out of Ed's pig's ear.

Still, at least he's improving history's view of Neville Chamberlain.

Totally agree, sounded fake. Funnily enough driving home listening to radio 5 about a guy who resigned from the foreign office. He was saying the opposite with this government, that it's not about looking after the interests of the UK but about internal navel gazing. He also made a point about the chagos Islands, that the pm was hiding under legal obligations against the UK when they were not legal but just recommendations.

In short we are being lied too. The pm is totally out of his depth and every time he gives us a speech, it's hollow and embarrassing.

How so? Its the security services that deal with such threats every single day.

Hilarious! It seems the democats called for the release of the files, so trump did to get elected and then has kept putting it off saying theres nothing to see, they were on the desk of one of his secretaries of state, then they weren't there.

Then they eventually get released with loads of names redacted.

Trump is just a liar.

You are just bitterly disappointed that their contents didn't contain the silver bullet that would bring him down

Them's the breaks.

Never count chickens before they have hatched .... Or put all your pre-hatched eggs in one poorly constructed basket.

One man who deeply wishes that the Epstein files had not been released ... and then looked into, is our own great but somewhat indecisive leader .... Starmer has ended up with some serious egg on his lying face, hasn't he.

Shame that.

From day one there's been a colossal effort by media to undermine and discredit the elected government.

Bannon, Murdoch, Rothermere, and others who took Russian money and live in Dubai, want Starmer out because he is a real threat to their easy access to power.

I look forward to a time when various Tories and former MEPs are put on trial for misconduct in public office.

Yes, Trump said he’d release all files by a certain which has long since passed and not all files have been released. eg. There are millions of emails unreleased. Allegations of files being destroyed ?

It was said Victims names would be protected and all Protagonists would be named. Neither of these have been carried out. Victims names were released and many of those involved have been removed or redacted.

It does make one wonder why ?

He’s getting close to starting more wars than he’s allegedly resolved. Which ones were they ? 8 he said, name them please.

Yet he’s been aggressive to Venezuala, Canada, Greenland, Denmark, UK, Europe, Syria and now starting a war with Iran.

And he wants a Nobel Peace Prize !!! FFS

Ordered the release safe in the knowledge his hand picked heads of department would hold back untill everything injurious had been redacted.

They missed the release deadline, by two months and still haven't release millions of related messages and documents.

But of course macho trump isn't to blame he has his loyalists I'm post to take the blame for him.

Starmer made the right decision and said no.

He should have said no to the defensive strikes as well.

When we fought in Falklands did America make resupply bases available?

What utter nonsense. Is this an attack or protection ? Defending for the security of the world? Do you genuinely believe that Europe would remain safe with the presence of ayatollahs? If so, please clarify your reasoning. However, I am uncertain how you would address the fact that they are currently attacking Oman, Bahrain, Turkey, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, and Kuwait. This is a regime that has murdered 40,000 of its own citizens and adheres to an ideology that advocates for the destruction of Western nations, including Israel and the USA, while chanting 'down with the UK' for 47 years. Do you think Starmer is justified in remaining silent during this perilous time in the world?

Where have you been for the past 47 years of Iranian belligerence?

This has been coming for decades and the increasing threat this dangerous regime poses to the world has finally been met with a President who takes no shit.

Happy with the atrocious slaughter of 40k plus people are you? Let alone the undoubted hundreds of thousands or even millions before them.

"I'd rather be safe under Starmer than have a threat looming over our heads under the orange loaf that talks a lot of nonsense whilst trying to steer the news away from his involvement in the epstein files !

President Donald Trump signed a bill in November 2025 that ordered the release of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Something that was staunchly resisted during the previous Biden administration.

The TDS mob really do seem to also suffer from Selective Memory Syndrome .... Must be a link between the two afflictions.

Like hell did they.

Argentina was their turf.

America provided us missiles, fuel and offered to lend us replacement ships if we lost any in the Falklands which is more than weak Starmer has done for them in Iran.

In the Falklands we were defending our territory, in Iran he is the attacker.

He is freeing Iranians from an oppressive regime. Haven't you seen all the Iranians celebrating? The only ones moaning are the pink haired, pronoun confused, jobless and homegrown wokes we have here unfortunately."

Did you hear his answer when asked how it ends?

Maybe we'll end up with someone better in charge, maybe someone worse.

Brilliant plan!

He's an idiot just following Netanyahu.

Maybe they are ready to go but we don’t want to send them to join in a very costly war when USA & Israel can do a perfectly good job themselves.

The decision to build 6 (reduced from the 12 wanted) new multi use ships was announced by grant shapps in May 24.

I don't think any will be ready till nearly 2030.

That government had been in place for 14 years.

But as usual, why bother checking facts.

As much as I dislike Starmer and his ragtag government we need a general election at this worrying time like a hole in the head. Plus if polls are anything to go by we would end up with a hung parliament, a weak minority government or a weak, fractious, cobbled together coalition.

This is from the Royal navy..

The refit, which started in July last year, is Dragon’s first major maintenance period since the ship was launched in 2008, and has included substantial maintenance to the state of the art electric propulsion system, as well as upgrades across weapons, sensors and communications systems.

Very true, one the Royal Navy who ruled the seas and now can't defend British military for two weeks. Starmer sure is wrecking everything , I firmly believe that Starmer wants to flood the country with immigrants. The sad thing is that his wife is a Jew so he's being a traitor to her and her family by defending Muslims. Utter scumbag and a waste of air. No wonder Trump thinks he's a useless drip 😂

"Sideshow-Starmer has put Labour Party management and his own interests before the National interest.

8% of the nation want us to go to war.

So he is putting the national interest first.

If only it were Britain's national interest instead of China's. . ..do you want Britain to attack Iran?

If it helps to destroy their terroristic & barbaric regime .... Yes!

They are a rabid dog that needs to be put down by any means necessary. ...any other barbaric regimes you want to help destroy...Russia, China, north Korea...?..

Not really .... The Iranian one will suffice for now.

...so you're part of the 8% then....?"

What '8%'?

How was that conclusion reached? ..... Did it come from Labour Central Office perchance? .... Or perhaps dreampt up by the Muslin Council of GB (Between fasting).

Knowing this government.... the so called 8% was cobbled together by both.

My original reference was to why don't we have enough ships. "

Because this wretched Labour government prioritised spending five times on welfare than defence.

That’s right, FIVE times greater the welfare budget is than defence.

Labour came to power in the middle of a brutal European war and promised to change things for the better.

The tories were a shit show re defence but Labour have had plenty of time to recognise how defenceless our hapless nation is now and Starmer has done sod all.

Of all his U-turns, indecisiveness and downright lies, his failure to protect our people & nation is the most shameful & gross negligent and he needs to go right now.

He has embarrassed our nation to all our allies and, indeed, our enemies.

"Why are our war ships not prepared and ready to go immediately when required.

Imagine telephoning the police when you hear a burglar in your house

‘We will be there as soon as we can as we need to check the tyres on the car and put some fuel in’

The Defense Secretary should resign alongside the Navy Chiefs.

Possibly because previous governments have not funded defence enough? . HMS Dragon had a major engine refit in 2024 during Tories Goverment. Been fully operational since. Just updating your usual inaccurate knowledge 😂

This is from the Royal navy..

The refit, which started in July last year, is Dragon’s first major maintenance period since the ship was launched in 2008, and has included substantial maintenance to the state of the art electric propulsion system, as well as upgrades across weapons, sensors and communications systems.

HMS Dragon is the only boat Starmer has stopped. He is a disaster."

Nice try but quite a pathetic retort, as per.

Welfare increases will kick in almost immediately, just lifting the 2 child cap will cost an extra £3b from next month alone.

Defence? From 2027.

That tells you that welfare was a choice of this awful government as the priority, over everything else.

So that new warship you keep blabbering on about won’t even be ordered until up to almost 2 years away.

In addition, there are plenty of military that can be purchased right now from around the world, not just warships.

The fact is Labour chose to prioritise welfare over our defence and that is fatal for any government.

Or He made a big impact by cutting down illiteracy and raising education standards.#ayatollah

Or could it be the murder and oppression of opposition over a long period as well as beggaring the majority of the country by treating the country’s wealth as his own fiefdom .

Wealth the welp of a son has been able to live off for the past 40 years in luxury in Paris , while he awaits the yanks putting him back into a puppet government for more family looting "

Are you referring to Hezbe Tudeh as an opposition? Or which opposition group are you discussing? Cheirkhaye Fadaii? It's good to know.

Well, his father was the king of Iran, and he was affluent because of that position. He never concealed his wealth. Can you name a king from any nation who is poor?

Interestingly, Ayatollah Khamenei, who was not a king, has a wealth estimated at around $95 billion, which is 95 times greater than that of the Shah. It's also important to consider the currency value at the time he left Iran compared to the current situation. In 1979, one US dollar was equivalent to 7 toman, while in 2026, one US dollar equals 160,000 toman.

"

Dear God. Tories reduced the defence budget, labour are upping it.

That takes time.

Do you think they can order a warship from amazon for next day delivery or something.

Warships are being built right now without having to starve children.

The British oil grab

In March 1951, Iran’s parliament voted to proceed with nationalisation. This caused consternation in the west – most notably in Britain, where the prospect of nationalisation was seen as potentially hugely damaging to the economy. Furthermore, it would have undermined Britain’s influence in the Middle East. Plotting to depose Mosaddegh began in earnest.

In the event, the coup – named Operation Ajax – was a joint venture between the CIA and MI6. The shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who had recently fled the country after an earlier plot to remove Mossadegh had failed, returned to Iran.

Within a short period, he had tightened his grip on the country’s security services and imposed a dictatorial regime which ruled through brutality and fear. Pahlavi banned all opposition political parties, and many of the activists who participated in the movement for nationalisation of oil were arrested or fled the country.

Government by fear

In 1957, the shah established an internal security service, Sazman-e Ettel'at va Amniyat-e Keshvar (Savak), which essentially ran Iran at the shah’s bidding. From then until 1975, only two major political parties were allowed to operate, the People’s Party (Ḥezb-e Mardom) and the New Iran Party (Ḥezb-e Iran-e Novin), and all parliamentary candidates had to be approved by Savak.

And we wonder why the ayatollahs came to power , I think the saying is those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it

I never did, I had children i could provide for.

So we’re now going into the fundamentals of our differences between the like of you and I aren’t we?

I acknowledge that Shah made a mistake regarding Mosaddegh without a doubt, but labeling him a dictator indicates a lack of understanding about him . What truly matters is what he contributed to the Iranian people and the state of Iran when he left, compared to the current situation. You want to discuss 1951, which many leftists reference, but we are in 2026. You cannot deceive people in the age of the internet. So, the Ayatollahs couldn't succeed with their lies about Pahlavi. People witnessed the construction of hospitals during the Shah's reign, the establishment of universities, the opening of schools, the development of roads and major investments in infrastructure. women' right and so forth...Do you really believe that the Mosaddegh case could erase all the positive contributions he made for the Iranian people? i really doubt it

The shah was a thief and murderer no better than the ayatollahs , history has condemned his brutal dictatorship, something he didn’t gain through his own sweat but the collusion of the west .

This is historically recorded and no amount of whitewashing is going to change that copying and pasting Wikipedia content authored by a schoolboy does not accurately convey the history of the Shah. it is important to note that the Shah was not a thief; the true thieves in that nation were the leftist politicians and the Ayatollahs. Please make a more substantial effort..

Personal attacks the last bastion of a failed debater

Labeling the Shah of Iran as a thief without any supporting evidence, copying and pasting from Wikipedia, when I posed questions twice, you did not respond as you lack knowledge regarding what you copied. Otherwise, you would have.

and now you are lamenting that it is a personal attack. What utter nonsense! I hope you have a pleasant day. Next time, please come prepared with better information that we can at least trust.

It’s your argument that are weak and unfounded the information is not from Wikipedia and it is historically correct to call a thief and murderer just that , well documented and investigated from many sources and if you can’t appreciate being properly schooled then I’m done trying to educate "

I don't mind where you sourced it from, but that wasn't my main point. My point was that you were unable to respond to the question I posed based on your statement. Clearly, you were unaware of what you had written. I hope you return and provide an answer, for goodness' sake

"The British oil grab

"Now it’s gonna take even longer to get HMS dragon to Cyprus as the workers are only doing 9-5 ! And they are waiting for parts to be delivered from china

Starmer 💯% at fault.

He’s failed his most basic fundamental requirement of PM, failing the defence of his people, particularly the service people in Cyprus.

He has no shame."

If the ship was in for an update maybe you can share with us how we get that out and on sea while it was being worked on?

You could also wonder why we should get involved in attacking a country that isreal and America have decided to attack without actually having a follow up plan, other than seeming to want a one religion word.

My God, is obtuse just your manner?

Starmer said yesterday that his government were planning for this eventuality since January.

So it takes months to equip our only available vessel does it???

And Trump took out the most barbaric despot since Stalin.

Very, very obviously, you believe that is wrong?

Why?

Tell us why??

What are your beliefs & motives here?

Oh right, so because, according to you, Pol Pot had more blood on his hands than the ayatollah then the ayatollah was a pretty decent fella??

Fuckin hell!

In any case, the ayatollah is estimated to have killed more than Pol Pot’s derisory 2m.

I'm curious about what the plan would be ???? for a regime that's amassed so many dangerous weapons hidden underground and in the _ountains, always ready to attack and never willing to back down. Shouldn't the best approach be to eliminate them first? You can't really plan anything ahead without taking them out first. For a murderous regime that has taken the lives of 40,000 young Iranians in just 10 hours, the only plan should be to strike and take them down. Iran isn't like Syria or Iraq; it's a whole different ball game compared to other Arab nations. So, it would definitely be easier to strategise once they're out of the picture.
