A government that seems to favour Ayatollahs, yet at the same time, is pouring a ton of cash into the Ukraine war to counter their drones. Mickey Mouse needs to exit stage left soon.

Your observation is spot on when one considers that that nutjob Miliband has been tipped to take over from Starmer in May.

Ffs. Here we go again.

What a bunch of unpatriotic planks that think trump is wonderful.

Have you bothered to look at what most nato countries are saying about trumps actions?

Maybe you like that America bombed a school.

Maybe you like that America sunk a warship with no arms on it because it was taking part in a peaceful operation that America was actually invited too so knew all about and then refused to recover the sailors at sea.

Kemi Badenoch is ok but her party is currently unelectable.

Starmer's handling of the Iran situation and the Chagos Islands deal is utterly appalling. His dithering indecisiveness and refusal to support US strikes on Iran initially have, clearly, severely strained UK-US relations. Starmer's retrospective decision to allow US use of British bases for defensive strikes was just too late. The Chagos Islands sovereignty transfer is yet another example of Starmer's poor decision-making. Starmer's approach is totally weak and disastrous — reflected in his record-low approval ratings and which the results of the May local elections will surely highlight and will hopefully bring an end to his diabolic premiership way before its second anniversary in July!

"Genuine question, how many times have you been punched in the face for being so pompous?"

None, although it is telling that when faced with a clear argument on current affairs, your only response is a fantasy about physical violence. That’s usually the white flag flown by someone who is devoid of any worthwhile opinion.

If you find an articulate defense of our national interest 'pompous,' that says more about your limitations than mine. Now, unless you have something substantive to say about Starmer’s ghastly record or the May elections, I’ll leave you to your daydreams and blatant rudeness.

Do you really need to ask, respectdue? I mean, really? Well, I shall endeavour to explain: you clearly have a fundamental misunderstanding of how a parliamentary democracy works. A mandate is not a blank cheque to ignore the national interest for five years. When a Prime Minister's approval rating hits a record-low -57% and over half the country now believes Starmer is damaging our most vital security alliance, the public has every right to demand accountability. Wanting a leader to step down because of a disastrous record - from the Chagos surrender to the friction with the US over Iran - is not anti-democratic. It is the very definition of democracy. You'll see exactly how much democracy is on Starmer's side when the May local elections provide the electorate's verdict on his disastrous premiership. It'll be back to the chamber for Keir!

Lowe's policies aren't unfeasible; but they would need strong political will.

The "establishment" uses legal hurdles like the ECHR and the Equality Act as excuses for decline. Lowe's Act would reassert Parliament's sovereignty to remove these obstacles.

As a businessman and principled politician, Lowe's plan isn't "populist theatre" but a turnaround plan for a failing model. Carrying out policies isn't "impossible" – it just needs a leader willing to prioritise the British public over the comfort of the Westminster System.

Couldn't agree more. The UK's situation looks dire. Weak leadership, strained public services, and chaotic policies. Miliband's potential takeover is a worrying prospect for many. Hope is fading fast.

The UK is grossly stifled with complex legislation and miles upon miles of red-tape.

Lowe's argument is that laws like the Equality Act and Human Rights Act have been hijacked by 'woke' ideology, prioritising identity politics over merit and common sense.

He wants to repeal them to restore equality before the law and prioritise British citizens' safety and culture, which he feels are being undermined by international courts and 'legal handcuffs'.

Exactly, God help the ones with limited savings and mortgages as all prices will fire up.

And what about Starmer's nonsense saying he will send TWO aircraft carriers when one is out of commission. Plus why would you send an aircraft carrier when you have Land Based Options

Starmer is clutching at straws trying to look important when everyone is ignoring him.

Just like John Swinney up in Scotland trying to stop USA using Scottish airfields

Still, if you have some spare thousands in your bank account then BAE systems are a great investment, I've been watching funds grow since 2015.

Its easy to sound good.

So you think they "sound good" respectdue!

No i don't think his policies sound good, I was referring to the fact that some do.

To be honest I don't know much about them as there isn't a general election for years.

Not sure how getting rid of equality and human rights are something to help British people.

Any politician that uses the word woke hasn't got a clue. "

The current economic situation is indeed concerning, especially for those with limited savings. The escalation in the Middle East has led to spikes in oil and gas prices, causing lenders like HSBC to hike mortgage rates, which threatens homeowners who were hoping for a reprieve from the Bank of England this month. Critics argue that the UK's military posturing, particularly sending a lone carrier into a "hot" zone, is ill-advised, especially when HMS Queen Elizabeth is sidelined with technical issues. Land-based operations from RAF Akrotiri are considered a more logical and less risky strategic choice.

Meanwhile, the financial side of the conflict tells a much different story. BAe Systems stock has climbed 370% since 2015, reaching a record high of over 2,200p, benefiting defence investors. I'm fortunate to have held onto my original BAe Systems employee shares from the privatisation in the early 80s and also topped them up with a "buy one get one free" scheme, quite a lucrative investment 45 years on!

Thanks to the Iron Lady! 😊

Even Tony 'how high do you want me to jump Mr President' Blair has turned on Starmer. Bit of a case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. Certainly no fan of Starmer and think he is totally out of his depth as PM. However I can understand him not wanting to plunge us headlong into a war. At the same time it would be foolish to alienate a major Ally.

Still at least we have the absentee Member for Clacton kissing the President's feet and running our country down.

All these hypocritical bleeding heart liberals would soon change their small minds if the UK ever comes under attack and would kiss America’s arse to bail us out.

These over emotional saps cannot get their thick heads around the fact that world events like this require decisiveness & we won’t get that with our current rabble leading us.

The US didn’t even ask for the UK to join in on any strike on Iran, they primarily wanted UK bases for refuelling.

Starmer refused but then changed his mind 24 hours later and in the process damaged our standing with our greatest ally and humiliated our country.

Now President Trump says he’ll remember that and that should worry us all.

Farage has been with Trump and obviously provoked the message, in between trying to collapse British farming with US imports.

All the right wing media and Bannon's paymasters, who operate grifters like Farage, (AfD, Bardella in Europe as well) want instability and chaos. Frustrated by the election, they want to destabilise Labour and force an election. Then they hope to have power. They're taking the voters for granted.

The Tories weakness allows Farage to parade, for now, but I think people have begun to see through these populist puppets.

Blair rode an economic boom carefully prepared by Ken Clarke. Starmer has to deal with poisoned wells and civil service where policy across all departments had been confusion and delay.

The right wing media fear Starmer because he might fix things and slowly turn the country round, thus preventing another Tory government for ten years or more.

Tony Blair loves his US Presidents, was so eager to cite a dodgy dossier to justify going all in with Bush in Iraq. And now Blair is on Trump's Board of Peace for Gaza - so it stands to reason he'll criticise his own fellow Labour PM for not going all out for Trump's war. (Which is, according DJT, now already won.)

Maybe Starmer took note of the three public inquiries into the Iraq war which Blair had to face, and which found serious fault with the UK government's actions. Starmer will also note that nearly 50% of the UK public are against Trump's war on Iran.

Erm, the UK wasn’t even asked by the US & Israel to join them in any strike on Iran.

The US wanted use of UK bases to refuel only.

Starmer said no, then he said yes, 24 hours later.

Too late, damage done.

"Even Tony 'how high do you want me to jump Mr President' Blair has turned on Starmer. Bit of a case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. Certainly no fan of Starmer and think he is totally out of his depth as PM. However I can understand him not wanting to plunge us headlong into a war. At the same time it would be foolish to alienate a major Ally.

Still at least we have the absentee Member for Clacton kissing the President's feet and running our country down.

...do you think trump has been acting like your "major ally"...?

Guessed I might rattle the cages of the fervent anti-Trumpites. I'm not a big fan of his. Too eccentric and a total loose cannon. But looking at the bigger picture I'd rather stay friends with America than I would Russia or China.....you have a short memory...its only been a few weeks since your "ally" called your soldiers cowards...don't you remember?"

Once again you are letting your virulent anti-Trumpist tunnel-vision get the better of you. I'm well aware that Trump says some very stupid things and some of them unforgivable and verging on the insane. However there is more to the USA than just Trump. In the same way there is more to the UK than just Starmer.

Yes, Rupert Lowe is certainly gaining popularity and his party policies make a lot of sense, far more sense than Starmer's destructive formula!

Rupert... Evan!

How many of those policies do you actually believe he would or could carry out.

Its easy to sound good.

So you think they "sound good" respectdue!

No i don't think his policies sound good, I was referring to the fact that some do.

To be honest I don't know much about them as there isn't a general election for years.

Not sure how getting rid of equality and human rights are something to help British people.

Maybe Starmer took note of the three public inquiries into the Iraq war which Blair had to face, and which found serious fault with the UK government's actions. Starmer will also note that nearly 50% of the UK public are against Trump's war on Iran.

"

If polls are to believed, which you yourself take note of, then a lot more than 50% of the public want Starmer and this awful government out.

...starmer has damaged UK/US relations...?...hahaha

The tangerine tyrant did that all by himself..he has pissed off most of the usa's allies,in case you didn't notice.

James can:- The childish name calling, gutter-speak, poor grammar and sheer rudeness seem to say it all!

The United Kingdom's diplomatic affairs are best left to those of us who are qualified and directly involved. I'm sure you have sufficiently pertinent national matters of your own to address, whilst we deal with ours. Thank you. ...if you don't mind me saying, those of you who are directly involved and qualified...seem to be making a complete cunt of it...I hope that's not being too rude for you...

When people resort to unnecessary expletives and gutter lingo, it speaks volumes about their limited intellect. Further engagement is clearly futile. I will therefore conclude this particular exchange here. Good day.

Indeed they did. As a long term opponent of Labour I was horrified at the result and the ridiculous majority on such a small percentage of the vote. But that is our system. I had to accept the result. I also, slightly grudgingly, gave Starmer and Co the benefit of the doubt to see how they perform. Not impressed. Can't help but feel he is out of his depth with the high office he has found himself in. Doubt there will be a general election for three years. Probably a good thing. Opinion polls are all over the place and fluctuate weekly. The Reformees are baying for an election now. They might get the largest share of the vote but probably not the largest number of MPs. It's the way out archaic system works. Probably we would end up with a weak minority government or an even weaker fractious coalition and heaven alone knows who would be living at NO 10.

Yes trump did post some silly little comment however, the UK is sending a ship to defend a UK operational base that has been attacked because of this ludicrous action with yet another boogeyman lie about nukes. Funny how they've been 2 weeks away from nukes for 40 years despite fuherer trumps claims he'd destroyed any chance of that for the future not a year ago.

Trying to have a dig at that useless PM is fair, he's absolutely ruined his legacy but to be spouting celebrations for a tangerine is a bit stupid

Political choice looks pretty grim at the moment. No party is very inspirations. Most seem to be involved in negative slagging off each other. Reform are definitely NOT our only hope. Little more than an egotistical cult based on one extremely dodgy and rather fake campaigner and influencer. He says things people want to hear. Has a very carefully stage-managed but totally false 'man of the people' persona but he hasn't got the ability to carry out government. Plus he would divide the country even worse than it is already plus we would all be worse off with his false promises.

Farage has helped to amplify the latent streak of xenophobia that never seems to leave this country and somehow turned it into support from the legions of "free thinkers" who always fall in line behind the biggest loudmouth shouting about foreigners.

Good grief man!

The EU has surreptitiously talked of an EU army for decades and Nigel warned of this long ago whilst still an MEP.

As of now, the EU has indeed stated an aim of a joint military force of 100k troops and Starmer is in discussions about this as part of his ‘reset’ with the EU.

It is to complement NATO, not replace it.

And the US are essentially NATO & if you think the US are going to defend Europe, esp with Trump, probably JD Vance next, from now on you’re deluded.

After all, the likes of Starmer & the far left Spanish reject him.

Do your research before posting nonsense.

I really don’t think this has damaged UK/US relations, Trump is emotionally incontinent, like playground best friends, can’t be his friend if your my friend, you must hate him because I do, no he is my best friend now, always has been, i am not your friend any more etc etc. so today we are in a special relationship, yesterday we weren’t, tomorrow who knows. Any way why would he want our support… we don’t contribute, just hang back… remember?

Oh and the bomber landed at a US base in the UK. One of 13, not sure why Trump asked for permission if not to simply be vile to Starmer because he wouldn’t play ball.

not a fan of democracy then.

Wrong again respectdue! Democracy, as always, is the decider - whether we like it or not!

Exactly, so why are you wanting a change in the elected leader?

"

I always imagine those that vote against a national government at a local election misunderstand politics.

Strange how those who think reform will somehow be the best option for the UK seem to forget his lies, tax evasion, putin apologist trump loving narcissis. Who rely on tory party rejects who stoke fear while not having one credible policy. Remember hes suggested cutting benefits to the disabled, and those working families who receive top up benefits to save pubs, repealing the equality act,the human rights act which protects us from corrupt governments, the pension triple lock, dissolving the NHS for a insurance based health care system and stopping child benefit for families with more than one child. When you also consider hes the only leader of a UK political party that has a show on Russian state television. Hes putins man on the inside. Hes not a patriot hes a traitor. Yet Starmer is the issue. He's trying to keep the UK out of another gulf war and we know how theyve gone over the years and hiw many soldiers weve lost for nothing. Those who want him to go along with trumps war should maybe volunteer to go over to Iran and fight for trump if you feel that strongly about the uk being involved. And those who say ill still vote for nigel regardless of his dodgy past, dubious dealings and Russian complicity must be a special kind of stupid.

How can removing legal protections against the state/ discrimination etc priotising the British public?

Keeping us out of another gulf war isn't weak. Standing up to trump isn't weak. Hes the only PM since before Thatcher whose said no to an American President thats not weakness. Trumps using Iran to diver attention from the Epstien files and destabilise the last country on America's list which general Matis alluded to the last time trump was president. Attack iran, Destabilise the country steal its assets and oil then pull out with any strategy in place that's why the middle East is in chaos. Starmer has done the right thing regard Iran.

"

...do you think trump has been acting like your "major ally"...?

Guessed I might rattle the cages of the fervent anti-Trumpites. I'm not a big fan of his. Too eccentric and a total loose cannon. But looking at the bigger picture I'd rather stay friends with America than I would Russia or China."

But looking at the bigger picture I'd rather stay friends with America than I would Russia or China.....you have a short memory...its only been a few weeks since your "ally" called your soldiers cowards...don't you remember?

Once again you are letting your virulent anti-Trumpist tunnel-vision get the better of you. I'm well aware that Trump says some very stupid things and some of them unforgivable and verging on the insane. However there is more to the USA than just Trump. In the same way there is more to the UK than just Starmer."

It’s interesting to see how many people see America as an ally. What ally would describe 540 of your service men murdered defending America as being cowards? And what kind of ally would elect a deranged fraudster and sexual pervert as their Head of State and allow this 5 times draft dodger to be in command of their military and threaten NATO members with invasion?

These are only tiny number of criminal acts of which America is guilty through this revolting turd.

95% of the world are not in the EU.

Why do you wish to limit our country to a tiny minority rather than the vast majority?

Why do you believe there is an either or choice in any case?

The UK ran a trade deficit for decades whilst in the EU.

‘Free’ trade didn’t change that fact did it?

We have no car industry, that on its own would mean trading at a huge deficit in that respect considering the size of UK vehicle owners.

Mate, you’re just picking up on other posts because you’re clueless with your own ‘input.’

Free trade made no difference to the UK’s massive deficit with the EU whilst a member.

The fundamentals of an economy are deficit & surplus trade.

Ah yes, is this similar to the ‘bonfire of regulations & red tape’ we were promised? The one where farmers are better off, the fishermen can fish away, environmental protection is top of the agenda, food safety wouldn’t be watered down. Not that changing or reviewing regulations is in itself a bad thing, but please make sure the replacement is ready to go, fit for purpose and better than its predecessor.
