I went once 3 or 4 years ago. Sadly the accommodation wasn't impressive although it was very central.

The beach and promenade were pleasant enough but I couldn't cope with the "Old Town" at night, the people were horrendous and it wasn't peak season. Never even bothered looking for a gay venue

Would I go back ?? Not if I was paying......

Hotels which are good

Villa del mar. And Corona del mar.

The latter has great nightly entertainment.

And pound for pound its one of the best places ive ever set foot in.

The beaches, the vibe, the atmosphere, the hotels, the value are superb. It’s cleaner and safer than most british cities imo.

You need to avoid the odd british d*unk in the new town & if you end up mortal & alone you will potentially be targetted by pickpockets but thats easily avoided.

Most of the hate comes from Those who have never been OR those who have only been on a stag do staying in some rotten 2* hovel

The last time I went there I was straight! And that was a long time ago.

Actually for an October holiday it wasn't half bad. Went with another couple and enjoyed the weather, the beach, the ten pin bowling and the older part up on the headland.

Completely agree. Like anywhere, if you look you can easily find the quieter parts.

I went last year to do the half marathon, great event, but also went to explore. Some nice hiking, day trip on tram to Alicante, old town is lovely.

Yes a lot of it is brash and loud, but you get that anywhere.

Similar with gran canaria, and off to tenerife soon. Places I thought I'd never want to go, but there is more than sand, sex and booze if you look.

There's something for everyone in Benidorm. If you don't like the Brits abroad and the loud behaviour, stay away from the strip and you'll be fine. As a base for exploring it's great - Denia, Valencia to the North, the mountains and villages to the West, Alicante, Murcia and Cartagena to the south. Personally, I go to Benidorm for the cock and the no fuss fucking.

It honestly depends what you are looking for. I have been many times, I go about 5 times a year. I enjoy the short breaks for cycling during the day and sex at night. I don't really drink, so not there for the booze. Im bi, so I have a much bigger scope for sex I guess.

My perfect partner would be a shemale and while this place is not Bangkok or Pattaya, it's a cheap alternative close to home. There are loads of gorgeous ladies there with that extra suprise.

Far too many d*unk bits etc admittedly and a partner that smells like a distillery is just not my thing, but picking up the locals is just so easy.

The clubs and bars can be fun if you hit the right ones at the right time.

Going back on the 18th for 5 days and looking for fun.

Yes, it's a shithole in spain, yes it's Blackpool with sun, no dont confuse this place as a spanish holiday destination. It's just sex, sea, sand and booze. Nothing more nothing less.

I've done Gran Canaria and Sitges Bear Weeks. Someone here mentioned Alicante.

There are good priced flights from Cardiff. Considering a few days there before catching train to Sitges again, just south of Barcelona.
