Not quite the traditional start is the spring equinox which is the 20th - that is when we get more daylight hours than darkness so the northern hemisphere gets more energy from the sun warming things up - but not long now 😁😇

A woolly hat stretches the season from March to October.

Just done a bit of work in the garden. Bitterly cold out there. However my neighbour has been mowing her lawn so it must be Spring.

Been warm enough to go feed the ducks down by a nearby lake.

Granted the wind off the water was a bit chilly, but one can't win them all.

Don't know why you lot are so cheery about springtime.

Only 96 days until the nights start drawing in again .... and that slow descent into darkness engulfs us all under its inescapable tenbrous grip.

Meteorological spring actually started on 1st March, and, as you say, astronomical spring starts on Friday, 20th March with the occurrence of the Vernal Equinox with the clocks advancing 1 hour to British Summer Time on Sunday, 29th March at 01:00 GMT to 02:00 BST. 💐☀️

Llandrindod Wells

Three days of sunshine and no rain. Sharp wind so still needed a jacket when gardening. Got quite a display of daffodils, hyacinths and Jerusalem cowslips
