My top tips above all else are to use proper sounds, don't just go sticking random objects down your cock.
And cleanliness - you don't want to get an infection, so properly cleaning and sterilising things is your top priority, as is using plenty of sterile lube - get the small sachets from Amazon, once a tube is open and used it's not sterile anymore
