I’ve got two and would highly recommend them.

You don’t get sedated just a local anaesthetic and it’s not particularly painful, just uncomfortable. They require several follow up visits and the whole process can take a few months from start to finish so I’d find a good local dentist. I don’t know how anyone gets them done on holiday or abroad when you have to go back so many times

Had front tooth implant last year, all using local anaesthetic. I did have some discomfort, but felt the dentist was really good. She did keep asking if I needed a break, OK to proceed etc. I just said to keep going each time. The drill into the bone is a bit weird, all quite a physical process. Now where I have the impant the roof of my mouth just behind the impant is a tad sensitive, hasn't been an issue.

By far the most painful part was the bill £££!

agree with above, uncomfortable rather than painful & a number of visits required but worth it if you can afford.

considering another one but been told I need to have a sinus lift first which doesn't sound pleasant (or cheap!)

ask the dentist to put some crocodile clips on your nipples, to distract you.

Not painful with good local anaesthetic

Expect to be in the chair for 30 mins while posts are fitted

Then three months wait to settle down before tooth is fitted

Then expect a bill of £2000-2500

2500 for 2 implants?

I paid 1800 each over 10 years ago.

No that’s the price for one

Double it for two

Agreed, sounds about right.

In Turkey it was about 550 per. But then you have all the extra costs of travel.

Than if you ever need any dental work done here many dentists will refuse you.

Sounds like they have a cartel, which is technically illegal, but they seem to get away with it.

I have a complete top bridge on 6 implants. Lost count of the times my gums were cut open and then stitched back up again during the process. All in all, took about 4/5 months to complete.

If it's your front teeth, then do it.

As above, it's just uncomfortable not painful. It's modern now.

As above, expensive.

The result looks good and is solid.

I have two implants, got them done here as a risk doing them abroad. Been in two years now. You have to treat them as an investment as you need to look after them.

I've just paid £4250 for a front one close to the centre. I know I could have gone abroad and had it done for a tenner. I don't like dental treatment, but recently a hot guy told me "you got me with your smile."

So worth it.

Also cheaper in most European countries, and you at least have the protection of European standards. Spain, Greece, Germany all good. Even in Germany they're about 1/2 the price of UK.
