North London (outer)

An arson attack on four ambulances belonging to a Jewish community ambulance service in north London is being treated as an "antisemitic hate crime", the Metropolitan Police says.

Four Hatzola ambulances were found on fire after the London Fire Brigade was called to Highfield Road in Golders Green at around 01:40 GMT.

The fire brigade said multiple cylinders in the vehicles exploded and caused windows to break in an nearby block of flats.

Six fire engines and about 40 firefighters were sent to contain the blaze.

Nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution, and around 30 people have been taken to a local shelter.

There were no injuries, police said, and all fires have been put out. There have been no arrests so far, they added.

Hatzola is a large non-profit, volunteer Jewish organisation that provides people emergency medical response and transportation to hospitals for free

It’s a pity, anything in the Middle East is now going to flow on our streets… unfortunately the dumb fucks who can’t think straight will do these things. Luckily no one was injured.. but now someone will go and do something to a mosque and then on it goes… this doesn’t help anyone nor does it help our diverse communities..

An outragious and unjustifiable act that should be universally condemned.

Instances of both anti-Semitism and Islamophobia have increased massively since the October 2023 attack on Israel.

Indubitably and not forgetting the huge detrimental impact of social media. The more people feel the increasing injustice of the current situation (regardless of which side one supports) the more fuel is added to the fire.

Jewish communities such as Golders Green and Stamford Hill in London, not to mention Manchester, Leeds etc have faced these types of attack for decades, it's nothing new. Drive past any synagogue or Jewish school and you'll see their own volunteer security people.

One of the ironies with this particular attack is that Golders Green borders Finchley, home to the UK's largest Iranian community, with little if any friction between them.

The ambulance service that was attacked will help anyone in need, regardless of their religion, ethnicity or background.

May I ask, and this may sound very stupid or anything you may want to call it , but are the ambulances that were burnt for general use or just for the Jewish community as I have never heard of this before ,ie a religious group having their own ambulances. Genuine enquiry and I do condem the actions.

Basically set up for religious Jews ( Paid for by Jews) if some patients feel ( like the Muslims) uncomfortable with mainstream ambulances. However, the ambulances will help anyone regardless of race and religion

They aren't a religious group, there are many secular and atheist Jewish people. The ambulance charity offers its assistance to anyone in need, regardless of their background.

That's a strange question to ask, in fact I mentioned a Muslim community in the post you just commented on. The attack on the Ambulance Charity in Golders Green happened less than 12 hours ago so is current news, but of course I would be just as concerned about attacks on Muslim communities as well, as we saw following the Southport incident.

The fact that you felt compelled to mention Southport makes it sound like fake concern.

Many on the far right treat all Muslims as being on the same page, which is massively unfair.

As do the gutter press.

Yet again a warped and seemingly biased comment. The Southport aftermath comment was perhaps to make things a little more obvious for you as you missed the earlier one about Finchley.

I don't actually see what your driving at either. I'm neither Jewish, Muslim or Christian but have friends who are, just everyday people who are equally horrified by these attacks.

In my experience that isn't true. No matter where people are 'from', or there families were from at some stage, most people I know and have come across simply want to go about their daily lives without hassle, and are quite tolerant of others.

Most of the intolerance these days comes from the far right and far left, quite often ignorant older white people.

I've no idea who they are obviously but could be far left, far right or Iranian to mention 3 possibilities. It seemed there were only three of them though, a mere fraction of the old white bigots we find on Fabguys.

You've never tried to hide your hate and bigotry previously but even for you, those comments are vile. I'm personally unaware of a similar attack against an ambulance station because of a perceived ethnicity or religion, and you certainly seem to be lapping this one up.

As I said earlier, it isn't clear who's responsible, extreme right, extreme left or supporters of Iran.

Yes, they're a newly formed group who made these claims on their Telegram channel. I should imagine it'll take a while to determine if they're true or not.

I’m sure that if a similar attack on either a St John’s or NHS ambulance facility occurred it would get similar media coverage.

Assaults on individual staff and volunteers are unfortunately a more frequent occurrence, although they do get periodic coverage - so to answer your barbed and biased question, yes they do.

Unfortunately the politicians won’t do anything for fear of upsetting them, much rather upset the rest of us

Exactly. If they were happy to look the other way while tens of thousands of young girls were getting abused for decades, it's unlikely they give toss about 4 ambulances. ....yeah but trump is trying to keep those girls quiet....

Has the Jane Goodall Institute contacted you for study? "

"An arson attack on four ambulances belonging to a Jewish community ambulance service in north London is being treated as an "antisemitic hate crime", the Metropolitan Police says.

Hatzola is a large non-profit, volunteer Jewish organisation that provides people emergency medical response and transportation to hospitals for free"

It also happened frequently in Lebanon in the 1970s.

Look up your history.

Totally outrageous attack and should be condemned from all right thinking people.

However what did annoy me was that the health secretary said we the tax payer will pay to replace them all, is that not what insurance is for? I did note that tge BBC had scrubbed this from their 6pm news so am clearly not tge only only person to moan about it.

In saying that, it was an absolute disgrace that they have been attacked in the first place, everyone has the right to live in peace and safe.

In my experience that isn't true. No matter where people are 'from', or there families were from at some stage, most people I know and have come across simply want to go about their daily lives without hassle, and are quite tolerant of others.

Most of the intolerance these days comes from the far right and far left, quite often ignorant older white people."

Genuine enquiry and I do condem the actions."

That’s a fair question. Consider the St John’s Ambulance service. It is obviously an organisation derived from a Christian culture, but it is clearly not only to serve only Christians. Same thing here.

From what sector do you imagine the ambulance arsonists came from?

Probably not 'old white people' right.

I've no idea who they are obviously but could be far left, far right or Iranian to mention 3 possibilities. It seemed there were only three of them though, a mere fraction of the old white bigots we find on Fabguys."

The old white bigots on Fab might do a lot of frothing at the mouth... but they don't go out at the dead of night wearing hoodies and plant incendaries into unarmed ambulances!

Let’s just say prejudice comes from ignorance (not stupidity.. there’s a difference) and is colour-blind.

Hatred is different from prejudice. Hatred is a learned and cultivated emotion. Hatred is not something we are born to do by default. What social media has done is allow hatred to be spread like a virus in a society that is susceptible.

There is always an ulterior motive behind the spreading of hatred, and that is where prejudice born of ignorance comes in. By being ignorant we allow hatred to spread, unexplained and unchallenged.

Stop prejudice by asking questions and we will stop hatred.

You're right, grouos of people will always hate other groups of people stoked by politicians, the media and to some extent religious intolerance. Its always been that way and likely to remain so. Jews have been persecuted for millennia by various differing cultures of all creeds. Its difficult to find an organised culture that hasn't persecuted Jews at some point. Makes you wonder if antisemitism is an inherent human quality rather than a learned and exploited hatred, or if there is some big antisemtic agenda, or if theres something about Jews that triggers the hatred.

Correct, reports are that they are currently treating it as a hate crime, however they are also investigating a claim by some new group (claiming to be Iranian) that they are responsible for the attack. This would seem to be the best approach until there is some concrete evidence one way or another.

To put it bluntly, I feel that the world would be a better place if we had no religions. Religion is just another way to divide, control and set one group against another, and has been throughout human history. Individuals have used it to subjugate and control populations and used it to justify killing others - either through persecution or wars.

"A cowardly attack. Who the hell attacks ambulances? A red cross is a symbol that means leave alone and don't attack. Whoever done this is vile and inhumane and they need catching before they attack something else that can't defend itself.

Like the civilian people of Gaza and Lebanon I expect you mean."

Irrelevant. What's a Jewish ambulance charity in London got to do with that? Still a cowardly attack carried out by vile people who need locking up and if not British deporting.

"An outragious and unjustifiable act that should be universally condemned.

Instances of both anti-Semitism and Islamophobia have increased massively since the October 2023 attack on Israel.

This is very unfortunate and distressing Let's hope our lovely diverse communities don't start turning our streets into a war zone... Our stupid politicians let them all in... let them deal with it!

So obsessed with trump that you missed that the 'thousands of girls' commemt is actually about the uk grooming gangs. ...actually I didn't...I just think that anyone abusing girls is sick.....don't you agree?

Yeah, its sick. So is your dishonesty."

...actually I condemn all violence, sexual or otherwise....

"May I ask, and this may sound very stupid or anything you may want to call it , but are the ambulances that were burnt for general use or just for the Jewish community as I have never heard of this before ,ie a religious group having their own ambulances. Genuine enquiry and I do condem the actions.

As others have already said they will help anyone in need. However they are not the only community group. St John’s Ambulance also run ambulances that provide services to the public on a voluntary basis even to the NHS

Do the attacks on their staff and vehicles (st johns)get the same coverage or do you have to be god’s chosen victims before you get wall to wall media and political indignation

Vile , get a grip and I don’t mean your pearl’s,

It was a couple of trucks no one hurt and insurance is a wonderful thing "

Weren't you the same guy who was upset about illegal activities on British streets a couple of weeks ago? And all that was happening was a peaceful protest. Now you're okay with giving green cards to terrorists just because they attacked Jewish charity ambulances and no one got injured? Wow, and you refer to it as a truck, and the insurance company covers it? Really? So anyone can just occupy an empty building in London if there are no residents? This is what I always say: ideology can blind you so much that you lose sight of where you actually stand.

They aren't a religious group, there are many secular and atheist Jewish people. The ambulance charity offers its assistance to anyone in need, regardless of their background."

They ought to cover the costs for these three ambulances and then proceed directly to jail. You have numerous questions???? They are suggesting that perhaps Iran is responsible for the attack, so let us deduct it from the Ayatollah's account. Starmer maintains a positive relationship with them, so why not?

From these three assailants and the organisation that supports them....which one is that?...

Whoever gets charged and convicted, should receive an appropriate sentence..

They ought to cover the costs for these three ambulances and then proceed directly to jail. You have numerous questions???? They are suggesting that perhaps Iran is responsible for the attack, so let us deduct it from the Ayatollah's account. Starmer maintains a positive relationship with them, so why not?"

.....you must have missed the part where I said those who are tried and convicted should pay...?

Yes, also I’ve noticed a few threads where the OPs specifically states “only for trannies” or something along those lines.

Why not moan about that instead? Deliberately segregating members.

His efforts could be so much better utilised.

I am capable of reading, but I disregard nonsense... these are two distinct matters. I do not read material from individuals who, instead of denouncing terrorist actions, say things like, 'Oh, Israel attacks ambulances too.' Your whataboutism has become a significant issue that only you seem to be able to engage with.

Absolutely disgusting!!

No one should live in fear anywhere. Let alone live the way the Jewish people live in this country!!

No one should be conflating Netenyahu's actions with the Jewish people. Let alone the Jewish in Britain!

No one conflates Americans with Trump!

It was the Jewish newspapers that pushed against Farage and Nick Timothy's awful words the strongest about the open iftar. The Jewish people know only too well where that sort of decisiveness leads.

We need to be talking about how to reduce the levels of hate in this country.

Not paying lip service to it for a few days and try and blame other communities.

We need to talk about the role x has on spreading hate. The levels of hate Farage and Reform discord, including the latest homophobic rant.

Because you can't hate one minority with out deep down hating them all (including yourselves). It isn't that religion or colour or......

It's difference, and individuals need to work harder on themselves to introspect on where those feelings derive from and not lash out to protect their awful biases.

Respect and solidarity to the Jewish community. I hope whoever did this antisemitic act are caught and made an example of.

The distinctions between you and me lie in the fact that I do not engage in nonsensical discourse. Your remarks were quite immature; an apology is warranted for your comments regarding that attack. You ought to have condemned it initially; instead, you drew a comparison to the Israeli attack involving numerous Hamas ambulances. I do not endorse any party; I merely aim to halt individuals who speak nonsense on social media platform

You first post in the thread was whataboutery about gaza.

"...and the ensuing destruction of gaza.....there...I fixed that for you....."

Then about trump, and then about gaza again.

"...actually Israel attacked ambulances in gaza..."

You haven't shown any concern, sympathy or condemned the attack, just a mealy mouthed 'i condemn all violence' or 'both actions are wrong' when pushed.

You have made 20+ posts in this thread, most of them being deflection/whataboutery/nonesense and/or lies. The only person who cant see it and your duplicity, is you.

"nor will you be halting my freedom of speech on any platform"

This is the core motivation for every one of the argumentative reactionary contrarians on these forums. Everyone in real life is so bored of sitting through another pompous screed that no one listens anymore, so they go to online spaces where it is impossible to force people to shut up and blather there instead.

Well done for using your freedom of speech for something so important.

Do you know what else I havent done? Lied, or pretended to be neutral like a duplicitous coward.

Unlike you, I have the courage of my convictions. I brought evidence of hamas using the ambulances, you ignored it. Why would I condemn israel killing terrorists in a war the terrorists started?

Everything you say falls apart under scrutiny which is why you never actually discuss anything in any detail.

Why dont we start with the hate spouted on here first? And the members whose whole M.O. is conflating anyone that opposes them with trump...

We can also talk about your claim that people opposing islam is because they 'hate differance'.

Sounds like a biased generalisation to me. Saudi leaders regularly criticise britains failure to confront the extreme aspects and followers of islam. Are they racist? Self hating? Uninformed? Mislead by some post on X?

Do you know what else I havent done? Lied, or pretended to be neutral like a duplicitous coward.

Unlike you, I have the courage of my convictions. I brought evidence of hamas using the ambulances, you ignored it. Why would I condemn israel killing terrorists in a war the terrorists started?

Everything you say falls apart under scrutiny which is why you never actually discuss anything in any detail. "

..oh I know hamas HD committed atrocities, and also have used ambulances to hide their fighters...also Israel killed 15 aid workers, buried them...then had to admit what they had done when the bodies were retrieved and footage was found on a phone on one of the dead.....my point is..there are two sides to the story...you only seem interested in promoting one....

But you have lied, perhaps subconciously, perhaps not. Your clearly maximallist leanings cause you to exaggerate what you stumble upon and post them as 'facts'. Then when you're called up on this you then sling accusations of the misrepresenting of data without stating how.

The use of ambulances to transport arms is deplorable but they are terrorists after all (i have no doubt that the French Resistance used similar tactics), but that pales beside the atrocities committed by the state of Israel. This does not serve as justification for the murder of medical staff and the destruction of medical equipment.

Conversely i note that there is no mention of weapons being planted by the IDF in hospitals to justify the bombing of them.

I note there is still no cognition that, in modern conflicts, narrative control is more important that military strategy.

Precisely, there have been so many lies and misinformation issued by both sides that it's difficult to know what to believe anymore.

What makes you think that it's not a fact? The Israelis have repeatedly been caught out on lies and manipulation so often why should anyone believe them about anything?

"Who is responsible for covering the costs of those ambulance replacements? It should be deducted from the accounts of those individuals who are opposed to Jews.....who for instance....?

From these three assailants and the organisation that supports them....which one is that?...

Whoever gets charged and convicted, should receive an appropriate sentence..

They ought to cover the costs for these three ambulances and then proceed directly to jail. You have numerous questions???? They are suggesting that perhaps Iran is responsible for the attack, so let us deduct it from the Ayatollah's account. Starmer maintains a positive relationship with them, so why not?.....you must have missed the part where I said those who are tried and convicted should pay...?

Did you say anything , you have just questions .. lol....can't you read...?

I find it's usually a good idea to convict someone in a court of law...not in the court of public opinion...don't you agree....? I am capable of reading, but I disregard nonsense... these are two distinct matters. I do not read material from individuals who, instead of denouncing terrorist actions, say things like, 'Oh, Israel attacks ambulances too.' Your whataboutism has become a significant issue that only you seem to be able to engage with....the difference between me and you is...I denounce all terrorist actions, you on the other hand make excuses for the one's you support.

I do not endorse any party; I merely aim to halt individuals who speak nonsense on social media platform ....yet here you are...?I won't be apologising to you anytime soon, nor will you be halting my freedom of speech on any platform.

I didn't draw any comparison to the burning of the ambulances and let's say the killing of 15 aid workers in rafah...both actions were wrong,...unfortunately you can only bring yourself to condemn one of them

Statements by multiple independent witnesses. Footage of soldiers carrying strange looking bags into hospitals just before they gleefully reveal they've discovered an arms cache. Media restrictions that prevent proper investigation, you would think that if the Israelis were being honest they'd allow complete transparency.

Coleraine

We have all seen the evidence of the destruction visited on Gaza and Lebanon by the Zionist scum and we have to accept that they killed 70,000 at least of mostly women and children civilian people, the destruction of their hospitals and the starvation of the population. Not to mention the thousands of people who have had arms and legs blown off, attempt to get your head around that before getting worked up about 3 ambulances where no one was injured. Now we are paying 3 times the price for heating oil because these same Zionists have led the extremely stupid paedophile into a silly war.

The kind of transparency that you get by only allowing Hamas appointees to fill local UNWRA roles.
