Trump also doesn’t seem to understand that NATO is a defensive pact formed to counter the threat of the former Soviet Union - an attack on one is an attack on all, which would include the threat posed by Putin and his invasion of Ukraine. NATO isn’t and has never been an offensive alliance - member countries are not at the beck and call of the USA every time they decide to invade (or start bombing) other countries. Individual alliance members may decide to assist if they choose to for whatever reason, but are not obligated to. Most people living there dont have long ancestral ties to the land. Jews have always been in palestine. You say the claim is mute, its not.
