Sometimes I get the feeling that I'd just like to leave everything behind me,move far away where nobody knows me and start afresh,be myself, accepting me for who I am and what I want out life, embrace my sexuality,be at peace with my choices,I love having sex with men,it releases a lot of built up tension, funny that

Not so easy though is it ? We all have commitments of some kind - family, work, neighbourhood groups, animals, mortgages, other financials, …..I can appreciate the attraction of creating a new you, but the realities usually make it extremely unpractical. Probably easier to pick one aspect of your present life your not happy with and change that - the knock on effects of that one change may surprise you, in a positive way……

I'm seriously considering this despite being months off 70. I moved back to a town where I used to live and work. Bad move and big disappointment. Not just sex but don't seem to e able to reconnect. So a fresh start somewhere unknown is needed.

Sounds good in theory, but would it work in practice?

I'm in my mind 70s and thoroughly enjoying life.

No work

No commitments (except to the wife)

Taking regular and long holidays.

Having a whale of a time. Change it? No thanks.

Good for you. I moved to a fresh town when I retired nearly 8 years ago. Initially it was great and I was making new friends and having new interests. Suddenly felt very isolated with lockdown and foolishly persuaded myself to move back to more familiar territory. Turned out to be a mistake. Onwards and upwards.

Jesus christ he's not suggesting relocating to Mars. I know several men who have remade their lives in their 60s or 70s, come out and been accepted by children and wider family. Of course it's not easy if you're still married. But I'm stunned by the number of responses on the lines of 'don't be silly, it's too hard'.

It really isn't. Most family and friends will accept it. As for those who don't - you should question their values and how badly you need them in your life.

I think we all feel that way sometimes, God knows I've reset many times. I've learned that accepting and being comfortable with who I am is the important thing. Sure there are things I want and things I want to be. But I am me, unique and as beautiful and amazing as everyone else. A great Buddhist philosophy...just be...

Love to you Xx

Definitely out of Wales from May if the nightmare reality of Plaid or Plaid/Labour comes to pass.

Sell my properties, make 4 people redundant unfortunately and move to England or Scotland.

Ditch the UK in any case in around 5 years time. The country is fucked.
