Anyone else lost leg hair as they age? My legs used to be reasonably hairy but now I’m virtually smooth and I don’t like it! Same with underarm hair. I thought it might be testosterone but test said that’s fine.

Yep, definitely, especially below the knee, I guess it's just a thing as you get older. But my armpit hair hasn't really diminished just slower growing than it used to be

It started lower down and I thought it was from wearing socks but obviously not!

Same here, below the leg. Less hairy underarms too. I like hairy and lived being hairy, so I don't like this!

Kidney issues can cause loss too.

I don’t like losing it. Funnily, as an adolescent, I didn’t like it as I didn’t want to turn into an adult and was embarrassed by the changes in my body in front of my family. I used to remove it with Veet!

I'd imagine we all lose hair everywhere as we age. White hair looks more transparent than black. Also clothing rubs some of it off. If I wear shorts more often and spend more time naked during the summer I notice the hair on my legs especially back of the calves gets thicker.

I’ve lost hair in a couple of patches on my shins, presumably from wearing socks all the time. I don’t like it mainly because it’s uneven, but I’m too old to be bothered that much by my body any more, it’s not like I can do a lot about it

I have had two knee replacements over the past 12 months and the opposite has happened to me. I have quite hairy legs below the knee now (whereby I didn’t before the operations).

I’ve noticed the same, but find short wearing and use of a vitamin e body lotion through the warmer months helps to restore the growth …

That’s an interesting one - I was hoping we might get a comment from a medic but that’s probably worth checking out

Understandably annoying to lose hair on your legs, but it's usually benign and part of the ageing process in both men and women.

However, having low levels of vitamin D/biotin (B complex)/zinc may contribute to the hair loss, as may diabetes, peripheral artery disease, auto-immune disorders and some medications.

Long story short: if it's of concern, especially if combined with other symptoms, seek help/advice from medical professionals.

I've never been a hairy person and I like it that way. I shave my armpits and my chest. I'd shave my legs, but my wife would have a fit.

My legs (and even arms) are definitely less hairy. I used to like my skin being tanned, contrasted with sun-bleached hair (long time ago 😳😁).

Beach bum, haha! Me too - paying for it now though and wish I’d used more protection rather than the bravado of my youth! Used to peel the skin off in sheets. It would have lots of tiny holes from the since vanished leg hair!
