For fun.

What pet person are you? Dog, Cat, Bird or Exotic?

Cat at present, but have had dogs, birds, gerbils even a couple of geckos. Would have a dog again but due to work can't commit to the three four walks a day

Cats when I lived more rural (had six at one time).

Hamsters now I live in a small town flat, it'd be cruel to keep a cat indoors but the hamster has a massive double cage habitat (they need way more room than most pet shop cages allow)

Over the years, because of the kids, I’ve had various cats, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters, Guinea pigs, etc. Even a couple of gecko at one stage.

Cats were probably my favourite pets.

Now I don’t have any though. I sort of like to be able to do what I want at the drop of a hat, and pets don’t really fit in with that kind of stuff.

Cats take care of themselves, free spirits, leave a conservatory window open & box of biscuits and they come & go as they wish.

Cats are no problem.

Two cats, the second a stray who decided to live in my home.

Used to see her under cars for warmth bless her in colder weather so was happy to take her in and give her another chance in her life.

Don’t have any pets at the moment. The difficulty I had getting over my last dog. Which was killed on New Year's Eve 4 years ago. Is not an experience I would choose to repeat.

I absolutely loved having a dog and I desperately miss not having one.

Cats, my last was a pure white, blue-eyed called 'Spooky', she was deaf as usually goes with her type, but lived a happy life and was as smart and mad as you like

Died four years ago in her sleep on my bed age 14

Sometimes feel her around the house, others have too... Xx

Yes, got into garden birds & wildlife during Covid, it’s great.

Although I’ve learned that the beautiful robin only live for about a year. 😢

Always had a dog since birth

But now I’m getting on I’ve made a decision that the dog I have now will be the last as it’s now my time to enjoy unchained life

By which I mean random holidays not having to rush home after a night out etc..

no more dog hair in my car

I will miss the walks and the company but I won’t miss the vets bills

I'm a Cat person.

I do love dogs but you've got to be able to put in the effort to look after them and walk them every day regardless of weather. I work very weird shifts so it's not easy and that wouldn't be fair to a dog.

They are athletic sprinters so like a twenty minute walk to burn off energy with a few zoomies. Mine are all socialised and safe off lead. At home they lounge on their beds or the sofa for hours. They conserve energy by resting their heads but the eyes follow your every move. Their ears go up like periscopes and swivel to any sound. Couch potatoes but ready to scramble at any time. Very easy to keep and good with children.

I dont have a cat. Some Greys are compatible but youd need to ask for one at a rescue centre. We did rescue a wild kitten found in the garden. I fed it and he sat with me for two hours outside before going inside, the dogs accepted it but had to rehome the cat because it was the one that bothered the dogs while they rested. I do have hens though and they get on with them once they know the hens are part of our pack.
