I've arranged to meet a guy at a b n b, but he has no verifications. I asked why, he said its because it's his first time. Started chatting to him on the phone and he let slip that he uses the b n b regularly. I'm a bit suspicious, what do people think? He's been on here 6 months.

You know what? Listen to your guy instinct. You already have doubts.

If you don't want to risk it then don't. I might add that we all had to start somewhere. Being on this site does not guarantee a meet. Getting a meet does not guarantee a verification. However the choice is yours.

He's lied to you about it being his first time if he uses it regularly. If you go, have a backup plan like a sauna or something in case he turns out to be a prat

Why not just meet beforehand somewhere public like a pub or coffee place and gauge him in person while you still have the option of walking away if needs be?

I mean every first meet is just that, a first meet and just because someone has a cartload of veris here doesn't guarantee you'll like them any more than meeting a total newbie means they'll be a shit show.

So did he say it's his regular shag pad, or just that he uses it regularly? I mean people who stop over on business like a place they feel comfortable at and familiar with.

Thank you all for the advice. I've gone with my gut instinct, and told him its not going to happen.

I did wonder about the other possible reasons, if he was Bi, might have gone there with the other sex, and his was his first time with a man. If he was from out of the area he may stay there while visiting friends and family, may travel with work and stay there.

This is where a lack of honesty or openness comes in and creates doubt. There again they could just be a liar or a mad axe person - you just don’t know.

Exactly why when I do first meets I've either done a lot of messaging and gauged someone's trustworthiness by how they speak (it's never let me down yet) or for more short-notice things met somewhere open first, even if the small head's telling me I want sex.

I honestly scratch and shake my head over the idea of people just hooking up and expecting sex with no real idea of how it might go.

Could be his first time using fabguys but has used the BnB loads of times for normal purposes

It’s not advice, i am merely saying what i would do.

As far as i understand he may possibly have told a lie but really doesn’t make him the mad axe murderer.

The trouble is, as interesting as verifications are and nice to read, not everyone gives/receives them.

I've seen profiles where they say they dont give or expect verifications as its no one's business who they have met. I know you have the option of not displaying them too.

We've had meets where we gave a verification but didn't get one back.

Plus fab guys isn't the only place online where guys meet up from.

I've had more meets via the G app than here from guys who aren't on fab, does that make me less genuine?

As you've spoken on the phone that is definitely a plus, but I'd message and express your concerns and maybe meet for a coffee first then take it from there.

If hes genuine then it shouldn't be a problem

I know you've said its not going to happen now, but message again and see what happens.

ffs, if you any security concerns on a first meet... then meet in a public place first. Tell him out front, you have concerns; if he won't agree to meet in a pub or cafe... bail out!

When I first joined many many years ago I'd met half a dozen men before I got my first verification. Like me none of the guys had verification so couldn't do me. When I did get verified I went back and verified all the guys I'd met. Only a couple verified me back. Some guys will never verify unless you ask.
