Just watched the first part of this C5 mini-series that I recorded last night. Very well done and very thought provoking. Being of a certain age and viewpoint I found myself very much on the side of the 'old fashioned' teacher struggling with new and often unnecessary ideas.

Teachers need to be given more powers to hit kids if they step out of line and administer discipline.

There was a story yesterday about some black kids running riot and looting shops in London. If teachers aren't given more powers we will see more of this.

I think I may watch this show. I think I saw an advert for it yesterday, a teacher said something to a trans person and apologised and the trans person was ok about it but a ginger girl got involved and spoke to a teacher with zero respect in a way that would have got me a detention and a letter home to my parents at the very least when I was at school.

Yes indeed and they can easily ruin a teacher.

I sometimes have to work in schools, I have an enhanced DBS and BS7858 and can walk around on my own, I never do, all it takes is for one of them to take a dislike to me and make up a stupid story and so much grief. And I've seen some of them are so disrespectful but the majority are ok and polite.
