Hi. Search etiquette but didn't have the question I'm asking!!

You go on a 'normal' day not naked only but you decide to not use the towel, is this a hidden sign, signal, meaning?

In a steam room or jacuzzi you sit knees together or knees apart? Any difference? Any hidden meaning or suggestion??

In the sauna, any difference between laying down and sitting (if it's quiet)? Are you giving a signal??

Any other behaviour traits that are used in a Sauna venue? Maybe none and I'm still missing the point

Key Etiquette Rules

Hygiene First: Shower thoroughly before entering steam rooms, saunas, or hot tubs.

Attire: Street clothes are generally not permitted. Guests typically walk around in a towel provided by the venue, or are naked. Flip-flops are often recommended or required.

Consent and Boundaries: Always ensure advances are welcomed. If someone isn't responding positively or rejects your advances, respect their boundaries and move on.

Non-Verbal Cues: A nod, smile, or eye contact is often used to signal interest. If a person does not return the look, it is not a match.

Safe Spaces: While dark areas and mazes are for sexual activity, other areas like cafes or hallways are not. Do not engage in sexual activity in crowded, non-designated areas.

Respect Privacy: Do not talk loudly or interrupt others in relaxation areas.

Handling Rejection: If you are approached and not interested, a simple shake of the head or pushing away a hand is sufficient.

What to Expect

Locker Key: You will receive a key/wristband, which should be kept on your arm or ankle.

Diverse Intentions: Visitors have varying goals, ranging from relaxation to sexual encounters.

Clear Communication: Clearly express your intentions and respect others' boundaries.

Exiting Gracefully: If you feel uncomfortable, you can leave the area or the venue at any time.

Hygiene and Safety

Use a Towel: Always sit on your towel in dry saunas for hygiene reasons.

Safe Sex: Practice safe sex to protect yourself and others.

No Photography: Cameras and mobile phones are universally banned to protect privacy.

No real 'rules' but:

Knees apart = happy to show you what I've got. Can also mean I'm looking to get sucked

Lying down = face down uncovered means guy is probably a bottom and happy to be played with. Lying on his back uncovered usually means he's a top.

I suggest that anyone nervous of trying a sauna for the first time mentions it on here and asks for offers of being accompanied. Most saunas have etiquette and rules on their website. Also a good idea to ask the staff at the venue when you enter.

Sometimes but not always wearing your locker key on your wrist (top) or ankle (bottom) denotes which role you want.

But its only sometimes as not all guys use this method.

I didnt know this rule for years and wondered why I always got assumed as a certain role.

Once someone told me and I started following it theres been much less confusion

I dont believe from my experience there are any set in stone etiquette apart I would say sitting in the sauna with no towel draped over your lap playing with your cock you is a sign your open to play...well it works for me.

Just get a feel for the place....relax and enjoy the whole horny experience whether you choose to play or not.

I’m a top usually, but only have small wrists so wear my locker key on my ankle

I've been to sex clubs many times with my ex wife, but never been to a sauna.

Rules seems very similar, but always good to confirm.

Hopefully will find time to get to a sauna. Luton is closet for me and sounds good

North London (outer)

There's no hierarchy or secret cabal involved in the runnings of a sauna, too many people just overthink it.

Also, and this is a slight bugbear for me, there's no secret rule that you can't speak or ask questions. Stop being so timid and actually speak to each other.

I tend to go naked even on “non-naked” days. It probably doesn’t “mean” a huge amount other than that everyone sees “the goods” more clearly, lol. Plus, you’ll probably seem more confident and might get a few more approaches than someone who’s always wearing a towel

In the jacuzzi, I do tend to sit knees slightly apart (if doing so doesn’t invade anyone else’s space). As with the thing of going without a towel, it might seem like a bit of an open invitation, so you may get a few more guys “accidentally” touching your inner thigh, followed by (if you don’t brush them off or move away) “accidentally” touching your cock to gauge your interest

Laying down - again, this might be seen as a bit of an open invitation. A guy might move closer to you and if you don’t move away from them, they might begin touching you up etc. to gauge your interest

You get the idea. It’s best not to get overly paranoid about “hidden meanings” or whatever. Just go with the flow of your attractions, be alert to people’s verbal/non-verbal communication, and be polite and decent towards everyone. You’re all generally there for fun, after all

If going for the first time you'll probably need photo ID.

Unless not mentioned above, here are more tips.

Don't be pushy unless the other person wants it, which is unlikely.

Don't hog the facilities if they're limited.

If you have crabs, stay at home.

Use the showers.

No-one likes to feel teeth when receiving a blow job.

Isn’t it fairly common sense. I found guy sit next to me in a sauna and their leg will touch mine. If you are interested then fine, if not move away. Don’t be pushy.

Can chat or smile or just be blatant and wank. My main rules are hygiene and no means no, if your hand is pushed away then leave it alone
