Just thought I'd write my experience having corectal surgery here in Spain.
Had a test result come back with blood in sample early January. A week later had a colonoscopy which showed two polyps, one 40 cm in but ok, second 23 cm in but found to be malignant.
Had a CAT scan two days later.
Had a hospital appointment the following week to discuss what would happen and surgery needed.
A further colonoscopy was performed the next week to inject a blue dye in the area to assist the surgeon.
Three days later I had surgery to remove 4 cm of intestine and surrounding lymph nodes destroyed. That was 6 weeks ago.
Further appointments at hospital have found no need for further chemotherapy.
Getting back to normal.
I guess the moral of the story is make sure you are tested regularly.
I had no symptoms, there were no signs.
Have to say my care and treatment on Spanish NHS has been exceptional.
Take care everyone.
