I've given up trying to understand it. I mean I block if people quite patently haven't read the profile and insist on trying to continue a conversation I have zero interest in continuing, more for their benefit so they get the message in the bluntest possible way.

I think more have blocked me even without any interaction because I'm just not what they're looking for and they're using it as an additional filter and I guess that's fair enough

I've done that.

It was my ex wife's cousin.

He's had a few accounts on here over the years but gets bored and deletes fairly regularly. When I find them I block them.

So I was working away at the time and staying in a hotel I was looking to see who was local.

Started chatting to a guy who was staying in another hotel a few miles away. As his account was new and fairly bare I asked for some photos and got a photo of his face straight back.

Blocked and hid my account..

It's a surprisingly small world we live in....

Some of us take time to consider our reply. The fact that we are careful with what we write is not a sound reason to block someone.

It has only been 30 or so years since letters were the main method of private communications. With letters a reply would take at least two days to receive. What would you have done after you posted a letter? Would you have gone home and sealed your letter box.

You must realise that although people are on here they may be writing to someone else or may be answering the door to a post person who cannot deliver their letters because the letterbox is sealed.

Their phone may be out of battery, their signal may have dropped, they may have just glanced at your message as they were alighting from a train, people have a life.

Give people a chance to have a life that is more fulfilling than waiting 24/7 to reply instantly to your messages.
