There's a few on TV that it's obvious they're camping it up for TV. Seems a bit regressive, reinforcing stereotypes. e.g. most of the guys on home decorating programs or things like queer eye for the straight guy.

It’s interesting to note how some people can’t grasp that just because someone has a negative opinion of someone that doesn’t equal hate towards them or any homophobia/racism or whatever else against them…..it’s simply an opinion.

For example….for no apparent reason I don’t particularly like idris Elba or anything that he’s in….I can’t really explain it but he just irritates me……that doesn’t make me racist it’s just my opinion. In exactly the same way if someone finds any celebrity “grates on them” that’s just an opinion not a reflection on their sexuality or anything else.

Usually you will find those trying to claim racism/homophobia are the ones who actually are.

STOP TRYING TO STIR UP HATE WHEN THERE IS NONE.

I was just thinking that no one particularly grinds my gears… and then I read “Sam Smith”: now, whilst i cant comment on what he’s really like, as I've never met him, his public persona presents him as an utter selfish, disingenuous, self-serving prick. A truly unlikeable image.

I don’t get the Alan Carr thing at all ….amazingly untalented , has yet to raise a smile from me ….or anything else.

I do find Rylan quite amusing though ….sure he plays up the campiness , but can be sharpe & there’s an underlying intelligence

Dale Winton was of a similar ilk to Alan Carr I’m afraid - although I think he’s dead now, so shouldn’t speak Ill of him.

For those of an older generation John Inman didn’t really do any favours for the Gay Community ….& I always found Quinten Crisp boring , though appreciate he had a very tough time in a different era.

I absolutely loved Larry Grayson though, who played up the campness something rotten …but always with a knowing twinkle in his eye , knowing exactly what he was doing & how far to take it .

Joe Marler is straight. Married and a father of three. Never thought of him as camp though he has dressed up as a 'rugby princess' for his kids. He is very much a 'gay ally' though.
