Been thinking whether to post this or not, but here goes, interested to hear other people’s views based on an experience this week !

Standard post in one of the forums, what would you like to do with guy above - suck, fuck etc.

I posted a comment, and later someone responded and said pass not for me, about me.

No biggy for me but if I was I’m suffering self esteem challenges, which I have in the past l, but not now, I would question why even post that? I get it we’re not all each others cup of tea, but someone else will reply positively, why even bother with a comment like that can cause upset, just move on and ignore, or is it changed now due to social media need to have to express a view on everything? Where has common courtesy gone??

As I said, not bothered for me, but do think about those going through challenges in life that could be affected, and wonder why you wouldn’t just keep your thoughts to yourself! I certainly do if someone doesn’t press my buttons on similar threads!

Interested to hear the thoughts of others!

I’d never put myself on a fuck or pass thread, if you have issues with rejection you should steer clear of any of the judgmental threads, in an ideal world everyone would be polite and respectful but on the internet it just doesn’t happen, people will and can say whatever they want without fear of any reprisal, commonly known as keyboard warriors, and the forums have a lot of them from what i’ve witnessed over the years.

If you don’t want peoples opinions on your profile or pics, best advice is not to include yourself on those threads where some can be absolutely brutal about not wanting to meet you.

In that specific instance I would probably not even bother engaging in a thread like that, as I do have self esteem issues and get hurt easily. But I get where you are coming from. I've been on forums of all kinds over the years and there are always disagreeable types. I'm often one of them lmao

The whole point of the thread you're describing is to say what you're preference is for the poster above....its not about good manners

Life is not only positive interactions.

If you have low self esteem, then that's an ongoing condition, not caused by a single negative post.

Battles should be wisely chosen.

I like to think the majority of fab site users are inclusive. The fact is some are not.

It helps one's own self esteem to avoid forum threads that could undermine your confidence. However we shouldn't have to do that.

In an ideal world, we would hope folk would have the common sense and decency, to always say something positive about the person above. Provided that person's comments (above) were not offensive.

I hope the majority of guys on here, try to be positive rather than negative.

I live in hope.

I have also discovered, that I am quite good at causing forum threads to suddenly come to a standstill.

"It's the internet - expect the worst"

Indeed: expecting any form of etiquette/good manners/understanding/empathy, etc. is a fool's errand (unfortunately). Sensitive types should tread warily/ realise that NOTHING appearing in an internet forum should be taken too seriously and, ultimately, your reactions are (capable of being) under your own control 🤞

Rule # 2 - Don’t write in all capitals. It looks like you are shouting and it’s very rude.

Rule # 3 - Proof read what you wrote before posting to avoid embarrassment typos.

Never really impressed with people saying “pass” on a thread when they could simply not comment at all. In essence they are narcissists so desperate for validation that they have no patience to wait for someone they like to post so they can respond with something positive. Instead they choose to be a twat to someone in the hope someone will come along and tell them their arse looks good.

I agree, giving a pass or really low score on these types of threads is pretty tacky form. I think it says more about the person doing it, than the person its done to. Deeply unattractive.

Agreed. Unfortunately that's just the way the internet is. I've been on loads of forums, most not sex-related, and it's always the same shit. There's always a sizeable group of people who will act how you describe.

If you can't handle honesty, if you can't handle rejection then a dating site isn't for you.

The op has made plenty of comments in the forums

I am surprised he has not learnt that there are a lot of uncaring, negative, those that like to sow discontent and some that are just plain bullies. I'm afraid you have to take the rough with the smooth.

What I want to know is why anyone contributes to a thread like like the type he mentions. What does anyone expect to get out of it, as far has I can see their are only three probable options, an ego trip, rejection, or a very slim chance of a meet.

However I do wish him well. And it would be so much nicer to have positive and polite replys on all threads.

My GoFundMe page for “Victims of the Cruel FabGuys Forum” has reached 23p. It’s a start.

Alternatively - some of you could man up a bit.

It’s the internet. It’s full of anonymous people hiding behind screens. It’s full of often facile threads where people are indeed seeking validation or narcissism or arguments or are bored or perhaps all of these. We all have to be 18 to have a profile to be here. If you can’t handle the reality check of the internet, you shouldn’t be here because it won’t be healthy for you.

Why would anyone care what some anonymous idiot rates them on a FabGuys “smash or pass” thread?! How could your self-esteem be knocked by that? Why would you allow what anyone says in the Forum to affect you? It’s beyond me.

I expect repeats of “Snog, Marry, Avoid” will need a trigger warning these days.

I commend such creative thinking: I'm prepared to throw in £1, if you give me the payment details. We need to stamp out cruelty and support willing victims!

Dating site? I thought it was just for quick sex.

I have learned that and honestly couldn’t give a flying f**k what people say about me, was just exploring to see what others thought and responses mixed as expected! Cheers lads!

Rule 1 : "Don't be a cunt"

Many neglect this basic rule of forum interaction and invoke rule 2, which is

"Be a bigger cunt than the poster above"
