Not as quick for the OP as he would need a change at Reading to get to Swindon, but yeah not that bad, I'm in Didcot so it's 15 minutes on the train and a short walk.

If he is in Reading he can get a Direct train to Swindon without any changes

when the OP posted his location was Winnersh which would've meant change at Reading but he seems to have changed it since.
