In the context of using the name of a shop you are visiting, Tesco’s, Asda’s etc is the correct use even in the singular.
The word is being used as a possessive noun, i.e. the shop belonging to Tesco or Asda etc.
Hence even as a single shop, Tesco’s would be a correct word to use.
For example, if you had s friend called Steve, and someone asked where you were going, even though you were only visiting one person called Steve, you would still reply that you were going to Steve’s. That would be grammatically correct."

The apostrophe denotes a possessive used as an adjective - short for eg Tesco's store. It is however ironic that the incorrect use of an apostrophe to end a plural noun is known as the "grocer's apostrophe". This is due to the frequent appearance of notices advertising eg. "apple's ... banana's ... carrot's" etc. And you can probably still get "Tea's", in many small catering shops that haven't been absorbed by the likes of Starbucks and Costa, and are still producing their own menus. | |||

I never see the ‘grocer’s apostrophe’ and I think I’ve only ever seen it very rarely anyway on a barrow, let alone tea shop.
