Obviously we are going to see the scathing comment from the negative regular poster who looks down on everyone else whenever he can....

But any thoughts for this year?

My pick is Iroko. And I like Jagwar and Johnnywho.

Lord Byron each way at 20/1 in the 1.55 is my best bet of the day.

I feel sorry for the old lady from number 43 who just put 2 shilling each way on Red Rum at the local Betfred and the gromless cashier even took the bet .

Miss not working in an office and running the Grand National sweepstake.

With the World Cup coming up too, would have run a sweepstake on that too.

Yes. Especially as most modern bookies have a 50p minimum per slip.

Near Lutterworth

The horse dragged his back legs through the final fence when leading Regent's Stroll and was ridden out to win by four lengths under Paul Townend for trainer Willie Mullins.

Gold Dancer was immediately pulled up after crossing the finish line, with Townend dismounting and screens erected for veterinary experts to assess and treat the horse but the seven-year-old was put down.

Owners Gigginstown said: "He's been put down. He broke his back. It's terribly sad for the horse.

The National is so bittersweet for me, like many others it was a big day way back when Dad would put our bets on as kids.

Such beautiful memories.

I don’t watch it anymore since my parents passing but I wish all the beautiful horses come home safely.

Had my biggest priced winner ever last year, Nick Rockett at 33-1. The guy in the paper used loads of variables based on previous winners... age, weight, how long since most recent run and loads of other data. The only horse that met all the criteria was Nick Rockett.

I'll have a good study of the runners tomorrow but the three I like are Monty's Star, Oscars Brother and Johnnywho.

Shame Nick Rocket is a non runner this year. Would have had a decent chance again.

The Real Whacker , Johnny Who and Gorgeous Tom are the three I picked from the office sweepstake. Years ago when I was at college I picked a horse from a sweepstake that won on odds of 40:1 .My mum suggested that I put an each way bet at the Bookies but I didn't and still sometimes think how much fun I could have had with £200 if, as a poor student, I'd stuck a fiver on him,so this time I have with the 3 I've picked .

In the end I decided not to desert I Am Maximus, even though his odds dropped, as I'd bet him in the last two Nationals. Had Johnnywho and Oscars Brother too so I'll get paid out for 4th place too.
