I must be good at remembering to bring them. I have 2, plus one of the very strong bigger ones.

I've never bought one. I recycle them from the cages that some supermarkets provide. Some are thin cheap bags that tear easily, and some are strong fabric ones with double handles. I must have 20 or 30 even though I keep using them to dispose of rubbish and unwanted items.

We have a buy to let house. When some tenants left about 2 years ago the walk in cupboard under the stairs was jam packed with bags for life. There must have been about 200 of them. Never bought one abd supplied most of my family and friends with some!

I've got a leather handled string bag.

Quite a few.

Tip...

Keep one in your bag or pocket..

Take a plastic bag, fold up the last third, then second third then pull down one handle onto third section.

Pull in left side third , then right side third, then corner to corner one side, then corner to corner on the other side. Makes a triangle, pull second handle over the two edge points. Perfect small purse sized bag ready for when you need it.

I keep most of the good bags in the car, about ten. Lol

All left in the car or my porch. I grab as needed. I begrudge buying more. Haha.

"I know someone who's got a old kiwi save and a Woolworths carrier bag ."

This is quite common actually, especially if one is a hoarder and puts stuff in a bag then up the loft & just leave for years.

I have noticed Somerfield, Woolworths & and a Mackross (a Cardiff store later taken over by Allders) that could well be from the 70’s, in my loft.

I also have a 150yr anniversary Harrods carrier bag from, I believe, 1989 containing old photos.

Have a cupboard in my kitchen full of but never buy any. Re-use them til they disintegrate. Keep takeaway ones for my lunch at work. Love a good sturdy plastic bag like Sainsburys or TK Maxx and get annoyed if someone borrows one and doesn't give it back!

Also, in about 2000 I relaid my lawn and dug up a Tesco carrier bag.

It was almost completely degraded and was so brittle each time I tried to grab it it just disintegrated into dust.

It must have been from at least 1986 as this is when this particular house was built, and the Tesco design livery of the bag was typical 1980’s, yet it appears it took 14 years to almost completely degrade.

When this law of banning carrier bags was brought in in Wales we were informed it takes 1000 years to degrade?

🤔

I must say, it annoys me when folk borrow a bag but then keep it and, even worse, reuse it themselves especially if it’s a particular bag that was limited edition.

I had a Poundland Welsh flag bag for life, top quality and very sturdy, neighbour borrowed it and still uses it for son’s dirty football boots.

Bastards they are.

If you have one from a shop that's no longer in existence, then it's kinda cool really.

A bag for life though ... LIFE.

It's a hell of a commitment. 🫤

M&S surely for snobbery rating??

My nearest Waitrose in Cardiff is in a right shithole.

M&S wouldn’t do that.

Waitrose attracts the riffraff as much as Sainsbury’s.
