Too many as that’s probably mine & most people’s era, even youngsters of today would prefer.

Music got shit from 90’s onwards although there would always be exceptions in that period.

"Fotheringay ..Fairport convention."

Banks Of The Nile is something else. It's the slowest of slow burns and takes me somewhere else when I have the patience to listen and immerse myself in it.

"Londons calling...The Clash"

Not sure if they ever entirely deserved the sobriquet of "the only band that matters" (plenty of others did) but London Calling (the album) is a work of genius, not least Guy Stevens'.

Doll By Doll, Remember. An album that melded punk aggression and 70s aesthetic and 60s psychedelia.

Live at The Venue sometime around 1981/2, still one of the greatest, most intense gigs I ever attended. Jackie Leven was a presence unlike any other.

"Agadoo...black lace"

It’s a great song, it is what it is.

Put it this way, I bet Agadoo would get people up on the dance floor, all ages being happy & enjoying a night out on a Butlins holiday club house night.

Yet, say, Everybody Hurts by REM, would not.

Music is context & mood.

I bought London Calling on the day it came out and have never been too impressed. Albeit there are 2 or 3 good tracks, there were too many different styles/genres for my liking.

I've always thought they were up their own arses a little bit as well, with an element of 'Emperor's New Clothes' about them.

Title track is great and Hateful is even better. Spanish Bombs is good. Clampdown too. It may have made a fantastic single album with the right track choices.

"Would be much quicker if I list songs from the 21st century i like…"

Well there’s probably only about a quarter of the total number of songs this century compared to the last, so it should be quicker
