Public bushes are usually trimmed by the council or local housing association.

They can be very domineering in their attitude in when they will actually do it though...

"Laurel or box..? "

Plant Bay, Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender, place a sign suggesting that the neighbours may help themselves. Less need for maintenance trimming, fewer pavement obstructions, community cohesion.

Tasty soups and stews. Fewer moths.

You write gobbledygook because you rush what you’re writing and don’t bother to check it before you post. It’s not clear if you’ve even understood what you wrote, what the snafu was, and why people are making playful puns. Take more time and take more care. There’s no need to get snappy with others.

Is your local council striking?

I remember the local council striking here the golf courses , bowling greens and even the bushes where not touched for months !!

Plenty of over time though when the strike was lifted but if you feel so strong you will always get ads in local paper or on Facebook of independent groundsmen and gardeners even uphill gardeners if you look in the right places.

Bushes shouldn't be trimmed at this time of year, according to the RSPB. Something to do with birds nesting in our bushes. Wait till mid-June when everything should have safely fledged from your bush.

Aha, true, but as I live next to a canal, we do sometimes get the odd lost crayfish in our public bushes. Quite alarming to see such a large crustacean in someone's public bush. Folks have been know to recoil in horror at the unexpected find. Usually public bushes round my way are neatly trimmed so a big old snippy crab perching atop the bush is quite unexpected.

This may well be the case, true meaning, like crayfish, can often be lost here. I recommend sturdy gloves and giving the bush a good poke and shake with a wooden stick or alternative firm and long instrument. Unwanted crustaceans tend to drop off very willingly. They make quite the thud as they hit the ground.

Do you think the sex-depriving wife is actually buried under the bush…? Hence the sudden infusion of crustaceans, their little antennae filters drawn by traces of blood in the water… And the urgent need for an assertive bush-trimmer was to eliminate the roosting crayfish from giving the game away..? Not all topiarists are good with creepy-crawlies, hence the need for someone dominant. I think we’ve finally cracked this mystifying thread!

Maybe the wife is feeling ashamed of the state of their garden; getting comments from the neighbours about the ugly overgrown bush and obstruction to the pavement. Passive aggressively withdrawing sex until it is sorted. Must be a difficult situation for her, dealing with her two husbands and the scorn from the neighbours.
