Waterlooville at night

I keep trying to block and delete them, but they keep coming back with their false rubbish. What a waste of my bandwidth.

I try to use AI as little as possible. So many of my colleagues at work use AI to draft all their documents and emails and it shows, AI is not the panacea that they all believe it to be, for the love of god proofread the stuff AI generates before blindly sending it out.

One of the things a lot of people don't consider is the Datacentre capacity required to run these apps, it is colossal. Currently there is a global shortage of GPUs and Hard Disks because manufacturers can't keep up with the demand. Western Digital have sold their entire 2026 manufacturing capacity to AI Data Centres and they can't get new manufacturing plants built fast enough to meet demand so the supply for the home PC market takes a lower priority and as a result prices of the components you can get hold odf skyrocket.

Constant use of AI is also shown to lead to cognitive decline because people are not thinking for themselves anymore.

My social media feeds are flooded with inane video reels of AI generated crap and if you ever read the comments on them the number of people who believe they are real is insane.

I will continue to avoid the use of AI where possible.

Rant over

There is a very real chance many of the comments you see on those videos aren't from real people.

The idea of loads of AI generated comments under AI generated posts is so meta. Or, more likely, Meta.

I mean Zuck would never engineer things in such a way as to "drive engagement" with the barrage of shite flooding Feckbook, would he? Oh ...

AI should be banned. Too many questionable uses and no verification of generated responses
