It’s very hit and miss isn’t it?! As a new dresser who just loves the feel and look of lingerie, I’ve had a few disasters and a few successes!

Totally unconvincing…I just want to wear it.

A lot of it is trial and error, ive got quite a few things that just didn't fit right, one of the main things is understanding what the sizing actually means, understanding the types of fit and style, and getting the right style of clothes that suit you

Don't go for skimpy knickers, a wider gusset is your friend as is soft, stretchy material, I personally don't like full lace, it's ok for a meet but I don't find it comfortable to wear all day and as I'm in panties 24/7 I go for comfort.

It really can be hit or miss depending on where you go. Find your comfort level and go from there. As has already been said make sure you have a decent gusset. Certain types are good only for meets. As well as some just being a case of free time

I can get in to size 20 but find 22-24 more comfortable, soft and stretchy material like modal will work to your favour and keep everything neatly in place whilst being very comfortable, my favourite knickers are my modal thongs, they are that comfy I barely know I'm wearing them.

Totally not into it though someone has wanted me a bit dressed a couple of times in the past...it didn't happen...but they mentioned that as a rough guide if you took 18 or 20 from your waist that have a rough women's number size...do if you're a 38 waist you might be a 16 or 18 in female sizing

That's great advice and I find size 14 skirts for well but I need an 16/18 top as guys have wider shoulders than women generally. I also use the three finger width test on a gusset to ensure panties fit snugly.

A lot depends on where you buy from, female sizing tends to be quite random.

I have a 30” waist and find size 10 or 12 fits fine depending on the store.

38” top, I have no problem with size 16 even with my falsies in.

It is trial and error and you have to accept that a size that fits perfectly from 1 supplier might not fit from another.

I find that lingerie purchased from China is the most iffy. I just bought a couple of very fetching silky thongs and whilst the white one cups my tackle quite snugly and teases my crack perfectly. The pink one achieves neither it leaves my sack dangling and is clearly about 3 inches too long in the crotch - bloody useless.

Unfortunately this is not the first time where by ordering the same article in different colours has delivered differing fits - Chinese QA

Im a size 8 / 10 in dress depending on make,

Size 8 in panties

Size medium in hold-up stockings

Size 6 in heels

Size 38C for bra's

And deep red lipstick for my lips

Anyone having problems keeping their hold-up stockings up, to prevent them falling down spray "hairspray" around the elasticated tops and this works like a glue keeping them in place

I second the 'subtract 20" from your waist'. I buy size 16 Sloggis. A tai or midi brief keeps your plums under control.

If I want I go 14 if I'm in something tight but stretchy, like yoga pants.

Trial and error, but at least the dressing up is fun.

This is why I avoid thongs, the gusset just doesn’t hold things in. A pity as they otherwise feel good on.

Start off with L or 16.. and work backwards. Don't be put off by L .. it's not a size 44 inch waist or an obese body type. Just a size that fits the male body shape of 5 ft 6 to 6 ft with a waist roughly 32 to 40

Sometimes a 16 fits perfectly then it’s a 20 but bra sizing is hard , I found Victoria’s Secret the best fit for bras and panties tho , hard to get a good suspender belt or a leather corset tho x
