Such an evocative phrase ,reminiscent of a time when Summers were long and hot and the only shade was the park toilets or woods xx

Something that apparently happened pre 1960s or else as part of jolly japes among public school chaps. A bit like fagging…

"When I was 12 maybe!"

Yeah - that's what I associate it with too, when it was almost universally used disparagingly. Whilst I've warmed to other words that were used in the same way back then - like queer, for example - bumming/bummer just sounds too twee now. I can't remember when I last used the word bum with an adult, so it almost follows I wouldn't use bumming/bummer.

Some expressions are so childish it sounds absurd when an adult says it. This is one.

For many I think it's kinda like a term of endearment.

I'm single atm, but when I was in a long term relationship term term was used for sex. Arse is arse but sometimes its a bit of a harsh word. My partner would just nibble my ear lobe and ask me if I was up for a bumming and I'd be straight in the shower 🚿

He did nightshift sometimes too, home at 7am. I'd often wake up at 6am to an SMS stating he wanted to bum me.

Just a nice word.

My very first experience of cock was with my mate. When his parents were at work i went to his house and we took it in turns to try bumming each other.
