"People driving constantly in middle lane and those aholes that don’t indicate and let you sit waiting needlessly" I haven't done much motorway driving but ALWAYS follow the rule of, stay in the left unless overtaking or I move over to let people merge if possible, I don't hog the middle lane But...I'm genuinely unsure why it's a big issue. I'm not thinking people are getting over worked by it, just I sometimes think what is the problem? Part of me thinks...I'm in the left but invariably pulling into the middle to overtake a slower vehicle several times during a journey. Isn't that when mistakes are more likely to happen? Reduced visibility using mirrors, turning head to look, blind spots? If you're in the middle lane and going the national speed limit, why not stay in it? In theory other cars can only do the same speed as you so how can you hold anyone up? And saves going back and forth between left and middle all the time? Just playing devil's advocate and looking to learn!

Being someone who use motorways a considerable amount daily my mind literally boggles when I regularly see that notice on a relatively clear running motorway and see the inside lane empty and a queue of cars in the middle lane!

Being honest if there's not much traffic I will use the middle lane more as it's less ridged and rough than Lane 1 due to all the hgvs using Lane 1. But once I see a car coming up behind me I'll move over
