Hi all

I was just wondering if there is anyone on here that is either going through or has gone through prostate cancer and would like to chat?

I know guys don’t usually feel comfortable to chat about these things however, from a personal perspective, I would have really welcomed support from that had been through this before

So I am now completely clear of this blessed thing and now exploring the next chapter of my sexual life which I am really enjoying

If anyone wants to chat, share experiences then feel free to either comment or drop me a message

I do realise this isn’t a story or a fantasy however there are limited options on the forum!

Cheers

R

Good luck to you in this next chapter. You seem relatively positive given what you've been through, so I hope that bodes well.

Thank you for your kind words

Indeed I am always very positive and now adapting to my ‘ new normal do to speak

One of the things I have been considering with my wife is whether we invite a guy to join us, we both love the idea of a guy fucking my wife however not sure if reality would be the same!

If anyone reading has experience or thoughts please do share

Hi

Mine wasn’t prostate cancer but Metastatic Melanoma

I was given a palliative diagnosis in July 23 of 9months and that was already having 6 ops to remove 9 tumours and a groin dissection.

I finished 28 sessions of Immunotherapy in November 25 and was told in remission in December after the usual 3 lots of various scans.

My journey started in November 2020, 5 weeks after a triple heart bypass so been ill since December 2019.

I know from speaking with others how invasive chemo is and I’m glad I’ve come out the other side.

Sometimes it’s difficult to put into words how it changes ur life entirely.

I hope uve had good support and that’s still in place now.

A positive mind helped me.

Hi all,

I’ve not been personally affected by these issues but just wanted to wish everyone well who has been affected by it.

For the initial poster, the pictures on your profile are incredible! I’m very envious of those big plums.

That aside, I’ve known a number of friends that have gone through this, so know how difficult it must be to not only go through it but have an opportunity to talk about it.

Take care all.

I had a radical prostatectomy in 2018 and have been cancer free ever since.

It inevitably made a big difference to my sex life.

I’m happy to chat privately if you’d like to know more.

Bowel cancer here, last chemo just started after a short break

Chemo is so hard to deal with as the side effects have been many and varied for me

I still get so horny all the time but I tend to lose my erection if I don’t constantly play with it my ejaculation is also much smaller than it was

Not sure if this is from having part of my bowel removed via a Caesarian section type op (yes I now have that classic pouch above the scar )

Onwards and upward and upwards

Stay strong guys

Men should talk more about everything. There's no shame in anything to do with illness or the body. my grandad, dad and four out of 5 uncles so far on that side of family had it or have had treatment. One thing my grandad learnt was pelvic floors not many men know they should do them it helps bladder control, Erections as we age etc and he was told to do them to aid recovery and that had he been doing already it would of aided the leaking. Its not just bottoms who need to do them lol

I have mine tested every 6 months luckily have since I was early 30s as its so prevalent. What always makes me laugh is I do pelvic floors and everytime I think of grandad. Which sounds so weird but thats why it makes me laugh. Learned the fact from him but helps in other ways lol.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February last year and had a prostatectomy in May. Now, nearly 12 months on, I am regularly having psa testing and remain cancer free. Happy to chat with OP or others about coming to terms with change to sex post op

I had bowel cancer 20 years ago and a prostatectomy nearly 7 years ago. Both had a deteriorating impact on my sex life - particularly the prostatectomy. Loss of ejaculation, loss of erection, reduced size of penis. I thought it was all over. But with some friends encouragement I’ve developed a more gentle sensuous approach which of course doesn’t suit many. I’ve become a ‘side’ - very fond of cuddles, lots of kissing, giving rimming, bjs and feet massage! And I can still masturbate to orgasm.

I attended a prostate support group for a while but the impact on gay life was never raised. I do think that there are more of us and even an on line chat group would be helpful. I know that there are groups in bigger cities in England but they’re too far away for me! Happy to chat DM.

Good luck!

Hi, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer last October and had surgery to remove my prostate in November. Thankfully I’m now cancer free. Unfortunately the down side is with no prostate is no more cumming but it’s a small price to pay for being alive.

Happy to chat about it all….

Blackpool/Preston.

My dad and his brother both had prostate cancer so I'm having regular checks.

I'm conscious that there's a good chance I'll get prostate cancer. My dad and uncle both died with it rather than from it.

I'm currently being treated for an enlarged prostate, using Tamsulosin. It doesn't seem to be doing any good but maybe it's not had long enough to work.

I was offered another drug the other day but I'm not keen on the potential side effects on my mental state. Apparently anyone with a history of mental illness or suicidal thoughts can't take it.

I'd be interested to learn how much bigger my prostate needs to get for a TURP.

Thank you for all of your stories on this. Having just supported my brother through prostate cancer last year, I was also diagnosed. Fortunately for me it is very early stage so just monitoring at this point. Second appointment has shown an increased PSA but again further monitoring and next appointment is start of July. Enlarged prostate is causing a bit discomfort but just glad it wasn’t more serious tbh.

Glad you caught it early so many of us ignore the early signs and don’t go to the doc

It’s just a very discreet finger at worst, I urge you all to go and get checked out at the first sign of any change

Since posting this topic I have received so many pm’s and all of these comments on here. It is clear there should be forums for guys to talk to others when going through a diagnosis, I know I was a complete mess when originally diagnosed and would have benefited greatly to speaking with others having experience going through prostate cancer, I was extremely well support by my family which helped enormously

On a positive note, prostate cancer is one of the most researched cancers with treatments evolving every day, although the process is horrid and worrying, keep focused on the fact that everyone stands an excellent chance of a positive outcome if caught early enough. Please please please go get checked if you have not to date

Thanks for sharing all your comments and experiences, I am always very happy to chat, just pm me

Cheers

After raised PSA results and a biopsy, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2023. I didn't want surgery so went for radiotherapy, a month of daily sessions.

My PSA is now very low. Biggest downside is no production of semen, although the orgasm feels just as good.

One thing few doctors seem to know is that the PSA figure itself is fairly meaningless - it's PSA density which is important. This is the PSA figure divided by the volume of your prostate. My prostate was quite small, so even the moderately raised PSA should have been a big red flag. Prostate volume is easily checked by ultrasound.

I had my prostate removed 14 years ago , aged 52 . Now 66 . NHS gave no support with regards to the mental impact . Also I found as a bi man they never covered being bi or gay , health professionals just assumed you were str8 . I know I have struggled over the years . Yes I can orgasm and get hard , but I do so miss the feeling of squirting semen

Stage 3a non Hodgkin lymphoma here, the A indicates that it moved to my prostate.

Worst part was the transperineal biopsies they took dozens of them
