Don't skimp on the prep, and remember that cheap paint is a false economy.

Always decorate naked - saves washing clothes.

"Except when glossing. "

White gloss is so last century. Last year, when helping to decorate my son's place, I tried Johnstone's Quick Dry Satin on the woodwork. It's water based, so much easier to clean up afterwards, and drys within 1-2 hours. It's an absolute game changer, and from now on I'll be using it in my own home.

"Sugarsoap first? "

Absolutely essential for a good job, part of the prep work.
