Supposed to be for protection!

But the guy that gave him the money, had already donated millions to Reform UK, to pay for protection

Polical party's dont pay tax on donations, so why not give more to Reform UK, rather than to Farage, who would have to pay tax on a gift that much

It does not make sense, can anyone give an explanation?

There’s no evidence to suggest that Farage got a £5m personal gift for protection. The big donations — £9m plus £3m from Christopher Harborne — went to Reform UK, not Farage.

The “protection” claim refers to Arron Banks funding Farage’s security in 2016-2017. Party donations are legal and untaxed, while a personal £5m gift would need declaring and could be taxed. No such gift appears in the MPs’ Register. The rumour confuses party funds with past security costs.

Yes, Reform UK is officially registered as a political party with the Electoral Commission. It may have started life with a single-issue focus under another name, but today it’s a full political party that puts up candidates for local councils, mayors, and Parliament. The quirk is its structure:- unlike most parties, it’s set up as a private limited company, not a member-led association. Still, when you’re voting, it appears and operates just like every other party on the ballot.

"Is Reform a political party?"

It is registered as one but it looks more like a Farage worshipping cult.

Not a true political party as the leader is self appointed not elected by it's members and there's no way he can be dismissed even Sinn Fein leaders are chosen by it's membership.

This is true. He recently appointed an unknown as leader and would-be First Minister here in Wales. No election. Just parachuted in from Farage's office. Been watching him [Dan Thomas] on a Welsh leaders debate. He's a bit of a jerk.
