Probably the most important thread on here this week so...

.. appropriate length of shorts?

I'm a short arse so I think short style looks better (and I mean normal short not hot pants shorts)

As opposed to long ones that seem the most common nowadays...ones that would go down to my knee.

I just think it looks wrong on a shorter guy, it's like the proportions are off

The same with short shorts on a tall guy/long legs? Proportions not right?

I succumbed once and got the long ones which also had the side pockets. I'm more of a portly sized guy so I looked too wide, a bit boxy..sort of like the aliens in space invaders game

I have that problem too. Cargo shorts with side pockets make me too wide. I try and go mid-thigh length

Not a problem for me, I have a few scars from ringworm attacks on my shins so nobody sees my legs unless I want them to

I'll just wear lightweight full length troosies in hot weather.

Also I'm a skinny fat bastard with fairly slender legs and a disproportionate gut above them so I look like a twat in any length of short.

That's them...cargo shorts, I forgot the name....I don't think they suit me.

I have a few rugby shorts that I wear a lot..they seem a good length for the shorter guy

It's rarely a problem with the shorts. More to do with the legs of the wearer. If you have sparrow legs, shorts won't look good, no matter what length.
