Hi all,

I've been dressing since my teens on and off, but have only been seriously dressing now for the last 3 months.

I really want to start going out in public as me, but every time I look at a picture, I just see me, so am lacking in confidence to step out.

No-one here knows the drab me, so I just wanted to ask, to you, do I look passable or good enough to be able to go out in public and not get started at as a man dressed as a woman?

Any advice on stepping out would be greatly appreciated too. I am thinking of going to Portsmouth Pride for my first time in public, as think that might be a good place to start.

If I get any responses, then thank you all in advance x

Your fine ,only thing just my opinion, you maybe need to change the eye shadow to a more day time shade. Unless of course you are going clubbing. Blending in with the crowd is key for confidence. Good luck xx

Hi Louise , I’ve got to say from your pics that you look passable without any issues, if you are struggling to open the door maybe try something like Leeds first Friday as it’s great for getting out into the world in safe environment, there’s always people that will help you out , I didn’t leave the house until 48 and LFF was my first trip into the streets , and I’ll be honest I’ve never looked back, it’s because of Leeds I’m happy going shopping or whatever everyday life offers as either side of me

I think you will be fine.

Go for a walk at night first to feel what it is like in your heels and skirt.

Take a bus take a ferry to Pompey and go home and see how it went and how you feel.

Take small steps first and then take the bigger steps after.

Be confident in you and not what other people may or may not think.

I wish you all the best as well.

Hi Louise

You look fabulous. I think you would be fine going out, most people are more involved with their own lives to notice anyway.

Have a look at the Leeds First Friday (LFF) FB page and come along for an event, it's a great place to start and a huge confidence builder xx

Hi Louise.

I'm not into the cd/ts thing whatsoever so this is my honest opinion.

You look really well like you know what you're doing and you put effort in. When I look at a lot of the cd's on here I can't help but think they look like someone dressed up for Halloween. An ill fitting cheap wig and makeup poorly slapped on.

But , the thing is. You shouldn't care if you're "passable". That's subjective. For what it's worth, my honest opinion is that yes, you are passable but there will always be tell tell signs. That's the reality of it. People will always stare or think negative things whether you're out in public as Louise or Leonard. And some of them might be thinking positive things as they look, you just don't know it. It's all about your perspective and who you surround yourself with.

The pride event is the perfect place to try it out. Also, try a gay bar once you feel a bit more confident. You only get one life Louise. My advise is to Live it the way you want to. Not based on what other people "might" think.

I genuinely found your pictures very convincing. I would say so if otherwise, as I'm not given to false positivity.

I think you should go either way though, because a major Pride event will provide a lot of personal safety and common ground with other attendees to help settle your nerves. However, for what it's worth, you look great so I hope you get to go be you and be happy.

If you feel like it, I'm sure some of us would be interested to hear how it goes. If you decide not to go, that's ok too, it's your life. Hey, maybe you'll meet some nice sailors!

Thank you everyone for your kind words, encouragement and advice. I've taken it all on board and feel a lot better about the person I see and _3vers, there's no AI manipulation on any of my photos, I do use a filter to smooth the image, but that is me in the pictures. I'm not here to mislead anyone 😉 x
